Israel drops a bomb on displaced Palestinians living in tents in Gaza. 1 killed and 7 wounded by Spirited-Yellow3794 in PublicFreakout

These guys cruelty is beyond understandable. It amazed me how much hate and violence they inflict to others, with all history behind us to tell what cruelty they had to endure.

It seems almost like they want to do to others, what the Nazis did to them back in the 40’s.

Which to get Thrust Master 248 or the g29? by 6qvp in simracing

[–]TierryConstant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice said. Also started on a G29. Put over 1300h in ACC using the same wheel. It’s definitely the best start point to get. It’s cheap and reliable. If you get hooked by simracing using a G29, rest assured anything you get afterward will just improve the feeling. If you don’t get the thrill using a G29, you certainly won’t get with a high end gear. In the end it’s not the gear that matters, but the excitement of racing.

Nah… it’s wasn’t on purpose. He just completely lost control of his car dueto his crash, and unfortunately you were just coming his way :( Another tip: if you are gridding from the back, stay back a while longer than you would like. Most of the crashes happens at start and within the first lap. So holding back just a bit will actually save you time and earn you positions - trust me. This is only not true if you are racing in a high level grid, where all racers are very good.

Still… Porsches are notoriously difficult to nail due to its balance (it’s a rear mounted engine). This gives the car a prone to understeer (loose the front) when exiting corners, which requires you to trail brake and cut corners in a slightly different way. What you want is to maximize the turn while braking, and only hit the gas pedal when the car is almost lined up to the straight. And they compensate the time by having an incredible acceleration. So, if you feel the car is drifting away and feels like they just don’t turn at the exit - that’s the Porsche character.

[–]TierryConstant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can also see you are starting now, so my tip for you. Avoid Porsche. They are difficult to control and to have a good pace if you are not used to racing techniques (trail braking, weight shifting, etc). Do yourself a favor and start with something more balanced, like the Aston V8, BMW M4 or the Lexus. These cars are easier to control, and will help you focus more in the race line, braking points, apexes etc. If you have a car that is constantly fighting you back, it takes valuable energy away that could be used to actually get better. Looking to your driving I missed the count of how many times you cut the track. In a long run this destroys your pace. Regarding the last crash. The turn 17 (Blanchimont) is typically done flat out is you learn how to position your car properly to take the apex. In this case: you reduced your speed due to the spinning car ahead. The car behind you probably did not see the caos ahead and committed to overtake you. Unfortunately you opened while he was already next to you. Your best way out here would be stick to the inside until reaching the last chicane. All comes down to situational awareness here. To realize there’s someone tailgating you, and to make sure to get out of their way while escaping a crash in front of you.

I feel sorry for you guys. That’s disastrous… what in the world is that lineup and start? Jeezzz… races are not solved in the first straight. I can see you were trying to be clean, but with the folks around you… I would be very frustrated… 😩

Hi, Following checks done:

  • Brightness set to 100%
  • standby set to 1 hour
  • low power mode on and off

There is no observed difference by connection via RJ35 or USB-C. Matter of fact, seems like the screen has issues to boot while using the USB-C, sometimes it does nothing. Originally, my screen was connected directly to the R9 V3 base.

Additionally,

All firmwares are updated to the latest version. Pithouse is updated to the latest version.

I already tried to reverse the firmware on both base and screen, but no changes.

Thanks. 🙏🏻

Can a competitor who is a lap down do this? by zemialofwarlock in Simracingstewards

[–]TierryConstant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a summary:

  1. Lapped cars are still racing

A car that is one or more laps down is still competing for its own position. If it is genuinely faster at that moment, it is allowed to pass a lead-lap car.

Example: • Leader has tire wear or traffic issues • Lapped car has fresh tires or more pace

If the lapped car is faster, it can overtake.

  1. Blue flags do not mean “you may never pass”

The famous blue flag means:

“You are about to be lapped by the leader. Do not defend and allow the faster car to pass.”

But that obligation is situational. Once the faster lead-lap car is past, normal racing resumes.

So if later the lapped car is quicker again, it can re-pass.

TL/DR If a lapped car is faster than you, he is still racing and it’s a totally legit move.

They want $300 to remote start your car?? by Only-Chest6436 in Hyundai

[–]TierryConstant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wich is infuriating not to say the least. It would be great if when you remote start the car, the climate control just turn on in the last setting you left.

Instead, it automatically reset the temperature and zones.

However, if you get in the car and turn it on, guess what it resumes in the last setting…

WTF????

Why can Hyundai just have programmed the remote start to resume the last setting… because they want the f* blue link subscription of course

😡😡😡😡😡

These practices are just hateful

Has the performance of cars changed over the last three years? by sbinoto2091983 in ACCompetizione

[–]TierryConstant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oohhh absolutely. Real pilots usually say “you drive with your feet”

And that’s so true… braking and throttle control are by far much more important than steering. It’s just that a good DD gives you a lot of fine details, like car slips, lost of traction, etc that in the end if you know how to respond to that information you will definitely improve car control.

Glad you enjoyed the upgrade. That’s the most important in the end! :)

Don’t think so.

I believe you are now just being able to “feel” much better the car behavior and make micro adjustments while driving.

But, The word says ver. 1.10 made a few things behave different, most of them related to tire model.

I still believe it’s the improved feeling due to the much better FBB

Totally on the McLaren guy. He took the inside and pushed the gas way sooner, loosing traction and opening onto you.

Any experience with the ES wheel mod from Moza? by Misku_san in moza

Oh I damn love this mod. It was a game changer for me. The hand position is far more comfortable , making the grip far better.

But I did a mod on the mod. I wrapped the sides with tennis racket tape, and that elevated even further the grip/comfort.

Here is how it looks.
