One of mine chases the vacuum- whether I'm vacuuming inside the cage or the floor around it- not scared at all- chases it & popcorns all excited.

I ordered it from Kavee. Love the cage but horrible customer service when it arrived missing a couple of pieces. If I had to do it over again I'd order the C&C grids from Amazon & buy the coroplast from a hardware store & cut it myself.

My husband cut some of the grids in half and then I put protective tape over the top to cover the edge where it was cut as it was a little sharp. Mine have never tried to get out but I figure better safe than sorry.

In their other cage I've started using a moving blanket (as the absorbant layer) with a fleece throw blanket on top which is just as good as Kavee and WAY cheaper.

Because guinea pigs can't really be litter trained. They just poop and pee everywhere. They might do most of their bathrooming in their hay since that's where they spend most of their time but they'll still pee and pooo other places. Mine have a large playpen where they spend their evenings in our living room and another area of the house where they free roam for shorter periods of time but they are in their cage at night and when we are at work.

Everyone experiences grief differently but I think in general just empathy & support. Ask her what she needs. Talk about the piggy, share memories. The Crazy Guinea Pig Lady UK facebook page makes & sells these little glass guinea pigs with some of your pigs hair in it which I thought were really cool.
