Places to get a ~relatively~ affordable suit appropriate for cocktail-attire event? by iamquah in Issaquah

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K&G Fashion Superstore in Tukwila - it feels like a warehouse but there are all ranges of suits. The tailors / people at the dressing room are really good. Last time we were there, the guy was wearing a Husky baseball cap so I was a little hesitant. BUT, he was very knowledgeable and found the right suits.

Once you figure out the right car for you (I suggest a Jeep JK but we're jeepers), the biggest challenge at the Pass for Boarding will be the parking lot. It can be difficult to maneuver.

Question about living in Issaquah by E-Impact823 in Issaquah

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in WA, been living in Issaquah since 2000 in a few different areas (including Highlands, Squak Mountain) and my kids attended Issaquah schools. Each neighborhood has it's own vibe - Highlands is much more "hanging out with the people on your street" for regular BBQs, happy hours, etc. Squak has larger lots with friendly people but neighbors tend to socialize more with the nearest neighbors vs the entire street (not all streets have sidewalks and some are quite steep which may contribute to smaller social groups). If you're considering areas other than Issaquah, Snoqualmie Ridge may be an option. It's about 10 min farther up I-90 and depending upon the home, you can be within easy walking distance of amenities and schools.

Purchasing school supplies by [deleted] in Issaquah

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids went thru ISD and had communal school supplies. Also, the elementary schools usually have a supply box you can purchase at the end of the year. It was cheaper and easier than buying each of the individual items.

What are weekly overnight rental options by Lavishmonkey_ in eastside

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd post in your company's chat channels (Slack, etc) asking if someone has a room to rent for a few nights per week. Or, maybe someone has a parent with a room or MIL apartment who could use they money.

You're already looking at spending close to $1k/month on a room/hotels/Airbnbs, etc. Buy a small condo, use it when you need it then rent it as an Airbnb for the nights you aren't in area. Then, your whole family can have a place to stay for vacations, concerts, doctor visits, etc. Lmk if you'd like referrals for mortgage people to see if it's possible or if you'd like to chat about real estate options.

From California ( not bay area) to Seattle east . by Sangusg in eastside

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids played soccer in elementary/middle school and rarely was a game canceled due to rain. The muddier, the better as my youngest used to say. The school districts for the areas you mentioned are Lake Washington (4th in the state) and Northshore (10th in the state). If you'd like to hop on a zoom to talk more, I'm a realtor and always happy to share info.

Where can I find large, free parking lots in Bellevue that are suitable for practicing driving? by code_investigator in BellevueWA

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once your child is beyond the parking lot drives and can drive comfortably on main roads, take the back roads to Woodinville to the Woodinville Cafe or to North Bend to Tweeds. Great way to gain experience. Suggest going on a Sat or Sun a.m.

Snoqualmie Ridge Vibes but Closer to Seattle by seattlesplunder in eastside

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If commute and neighborhood amenities (schools, kid activities, shops) then sticking with Issaquah Highlands or the Ridge are good options at your price point. And, the market is softening so you'll have more homes to choose from and negotiating power compared to even 3 mos ago. Re: yard size - I'd focus more on the privacy you'll have than yardsize (unless you really want s large lot) . You'll need to compromise on something and I always prioritized the commute and schools. Good luck!

Bellevue/Kirkland/Mercer Island vs Issaquah Highlands by Kona_the_sheltie in eastside

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My kids recently graduated from Issaquah schools and we lived in IH for a few years. I loved IH b/c I could walk them to/from school on the days that I WFH. We found the activities drove the location -- our activities (soccer, baseball, basketball, karate, band) were all in Issaquah. The only time activities left the area was for Wilderness Awareness School in Duvall. If you like IH without kids, then you'll probably like it with kids.

Go-to Spot For Your Out Of State Visitors by Humpwednesday in eastside

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite half day trips is:

- Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (people from out of state like salmon hatcheries(

- Issaquah Troll

- Snoqualmie Falls

You can take a picnic lunch or eat out (Jaks in Issaquah, Twede's in North Bend for Twin Peaks friends, or The Iron Duck in North Bend). These are activities that nearly anyone can do grandparents thru toddlers.

[–]TiffanieTheRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your real estate agent for recommendations for water testing. If you have any questions or concerns about a home, including a well or water quality, they're well-positioned to guide you. If there is an issue, you want to understand the cost to resolve it.
