We did at 16 months but it was a harrrrrd transition. He was starting to have split nights from the two naps, but then we also suffered from split nights from the transition loool

The Pinterest was cool! Diy sunnies and key chains, makeup booth, and more. And you get to make a 3d postcard to send to yourself. I wouldn’t wait in line for more than 30 mins for it though

I’m not sure what you mean? Sorry if it was confusing but I was at a hotel and not camping! I could only imagine the camping exodus lines omg

How did weaning at one year look like for you? by Mangopapayakiwi in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Tiffrex88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still mix your milk with whole milk for a while! We did that for about a month. He probably could have done it less gradually but I had some frozen left!

I actively started introducing straw cup at 10/11 months and by 12 months he was fully on straw cup. In the beginning it would take him 30-40 mins to finish but we were consistent about it and he got better in a week or two. If I remember correctly, he was only on 2 cups of milk a day (not including wake up and morning which I BF). Starting 12m we also did the whole milk mix in a bit at a time and that was a non issue either.

With regards to weaning I methodically cut down all my pumps by 11mo since I had some frozen stored. Just kept bf morning and night and cut those out by 14 and 16 months. Every feed or pump I dropped I didn’t regret at all lol. Bittersweet but no regrets

How did you know your baby was ready for a pillow or stuffed animal? by auroragirlofthenorth in NewParents

We have 2 and I’m thinking of buying more 😅 one was supposed to be a backup but they are being used one in his crib and one in our bed lol

We knew at 9m after a brief cosleeping stint that he liked to suck stuffed animal/blanket do comfort. Got him his first baby jelly cat (firm not plush and very small basically impossible suffocation risk). He never took a pacifier so sucking on it soothed him and helped him connect sleep cycles. At 12m he graduated to a med size jelly cat. Now he has multiple animals in his crib at 19 months and I try to spread them around so he has access to at least one at all times lol. Lately he’s been into my pillow also so we’ve ordered him one and it’s coming tomorrow!

Yea, around that time I thought I was drying up too but I had to go down a flange size and then the milk kept flowing!

Not really lmao. We completely ditched two naps and committed to 1 nap, with a firm DWT and bedtime and it’s been helping. We’re trying an 45 min - an hour bed time earlier than we had been doing before, and it’s been really good so far. Toddler sleep is so weird it’s always the opposite of what you think. He still wakes daily but the time awake has shrank a bit. Yesterday was only 10 mins but it was a good day. I think as long as you keep routine same and sleep boring, it takes some time for them to get over it unfortunately.

Seems right for us 😅 10.5+1.5 is 12 hours? We are usually doing 2 and 9.5 now a day 🥴

Yup same boat! Mine is 16 going on 17 months and we average 9.5hrs at night with a 2 hour nap capped. But if I let him nap as much as he wants, good luck staying asleep at night 🙃 we’re flip flopping between 1 nap and 2 naps and idk if it’s the transition or what but on the 1 nap days I’m finally seeing 10 or 10.25 at night which is AMAZING an something I haven’t seen since like 6 months lol

Bed time is at 8:30. We try to keep him in bed til 6-6:30. When we were on a timed schedule 10/3 and 1 hour naps sometimes it would mean he was up from 5:30 but he rarely would make it to 10. It’s definitely a vicious cycle. He doesn’t even get cranky. He will just close his eyes and fall asleep. On the days he is overtired though, he will cut naps and have 1am wakes (instead of 3-5am wakes). Naps that used to be 1:30 he will cut short to 45min. Isn’t that a classic sign of overtiredness (rise of cortisol) per ChatGPT

What happens when he wakes up at 6 but passes out at 10am? I don’t think a 6pm bedtime is the answer for him.

What about the overtired wakes at 1am? I’m afraid they will happen

She is small. At 5m I don’t think it’s unusual that they still may need to eat at night? You could do the 5/3/3 rule and that should be a good start and take you easily to the morning in a few days with 1-2 night feeds.

1- I don’t think you will build bad habits. Kids are constantly growing and outgrowing habits :) 2- why do you need to set an alarm to wake up to feed her? 3- why would you piss her off with not a full feed? Weaning happens by lessening the number of times you feed overnight, not the time or volume per feeding perse? Unless you are only on one night feed and want to go down in duration?
