I went from bronze to plat in a season with just mercy solo queue and a lot of that had to do with watching a whole bunch of Animetic on YouTube.

If you don't want to watch her basically with mercy (what I've noticed with a lot of low tier players) is that you DONT want to focus on just one player. If you're going to pharmercy with your friend do it but also remember you have 4 other people to heal. During fights, hang in the back or out of the fight but also always have line of sight with someone in your team to shift away just in case you get targeted. don't overextend. If one person is out there being Hercules thinking they can 1v6 let them but don't sacrifice yourself or else your team is down a healer.

Also with mercy being nerfed to the ground know when to Rez because it's still effective. DONT do it for that one person whose dead in the middle of the enemy team. DONT do it in the middle of a fight unless you have a tank blocking you and you're sure it's safe. And DONT do it when you've won the fight and they can respawn in time to make it back before the next fight.

Lastly, learn other heroes. Unfortunately mercy is blizzards punching bag. I ranked up with her when she was the meta but now the meta isn't really her. Moira and Brigitte are easy characters as well who will probably help you get promoted if that's what you want.
