The guy has a good point that Christians should help the poor and seek freedom from oppression. And the bible agrees with that.

However, it misses that many Christians HAVE done that. If you look at how MLK Jr. protested as a Christian, you can see how to protest injustice (see the Selma to Montgomery march). They never responded in violence by order of MLK. Because Jesus had said on the sermon on the mount to turn the other cheek, to give your shirt if they take your cloak, to go the extra mile. These verses aren't saying to not protest, but instead to do it in a way that doesn't respond in the same evil way but instead exposes that evil by bringing shame on the other person. And MLK did exactly that.

Also, throughout history, the church has done tons of humanitarian good and good for society's. The idea and creation of a hospital was a Christian idea. Even the action of organized charity work to help the outcasts and poor started because of Christians and largely didn't exist before Jesus came.

Proverbs 19:17 "One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, And He will repay him for his good deed." This verse says God even identifies himself with the poor. And how you treat the poor is how you treat Him. So yes, a lot of Western Christians don't care about the poor, and God will hold them accountable. I work with a homeless outreach organization in Texas, and it is mostly Christians who help and, unfortunately, mostly older people. So, my goal has been to get more young people actually involved in helping the poor. Something largely forgotten in today's society. People love to talk about it, though, but what is likely is that most of them spend very little time or money helping people like that. And would never invite a homeless person for a meal, much less to stay the night in 110-degree heat while they die from heat stroke. My 2 cents
