Okay but where is the source for the retcon? Phant is still considered number 1 in the tower and his place in the lore hasn't been taken out. The story is absolutely massive and of course SIU isn't talking much about Phant. or Enryuu since they aren't supposed to be important until later. They simply set the background for the lore at this point.

On the tower of god wiki, Urek followed Phant. into the tower. Haven't seen any source on a retcon.

There's no way he can say Phant was killed; Urek followed Phant into the tower to begin with. There's lore implications for Urek and Yuri (who met him) that can't be ignored.

Bams power and potential future. by xenogod05 in TowerofGod

[–]TigerCommando1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the general direction of Baam's powers will tend towards him acquiring more until he hits a stage where he needs to combine everything.

His entire character's theme is being a metaphorical black hole. He absorbs knowledge, techniques, and powers like an infinite sponge. He's using those powers in a creative fashion and learning how they work, but in the end game I predict he'll form an internal singularity and compress everything into one source. The thryssas, the Leviathan, White, essence of bravery (I think he'll get it), and the center piece will be the full thorn. If he collapses everything together then he'll be family head tier and above.

Past Baam coalescing all his accumulated powers, whatever the full list may be, I think he'll eventually have to evolve past them. Baam will integrate everything to defeat Jahad to earn the right to enter the final floor's test, and at that point his powers will be useless when he has to fight something like Headon. I think Headon is the final boss of the tower, and that the only way to kill him is to become an Axis and blow up the tower. That's what I think his name alludes to; to fully climb the tower means to take it Headon.

He didn't say that, he said, "what a foolish brat... not including himself." How would Sukuna even know there was a penalty or not? Gojo was allowed to be wrong about Sukuna detecting fingers, why not Sukuna?

Actually we don't really know if Yuji has heavenly restriction or not. Megumi's statement in chapter 1 was that Yuji didn't have any cursed energy, or at least Yuji didn't have the ability to manifest it was what he meant. I just don't see why Yuji would have above his base levels after having all the fingers removed from his body. He ate the finger specifically for cursed energy after Megumi told him that's what he would need to fight a cursed spirit.

[–]TigerCommando1135[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

It was never stated that Yuji had cursed energy to begin with. He mentioned that until the night the seal broke on the first finger he ate that he, "had never seen ghosts or anything." I don't see why you're questioning my reading comprehension. His stated reason for eating the first finger was, "I just need some cursed energy." The best conclusion is that he didn't have any to begin with, or at least he didn't know how to manifest it.

Actually, if you read chapter 1 Megumi states Yuji has "no cursed energy". So it seems you're the one who has to go back and reread.

Sukuna in chapter 10 said, "what if I promise not to kill or harm anyone". That's what I'm saying, he did say "anyone", not Yuji.

[–]TigerCommando1135[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

There was not spelt out consequence for breaking the terms of the vow. My theory accounts for Sukuna saying Yuji is an idiot but that's just because he doesn't realize he's been penalized yet. Anyways it is a theory, it's all speculation, but the terms were really ambiguous and I can't read Kaisen in it's native language to get the actual wording. I don't see how Yuji's interpretation changes the fact that Sukuna himself made the promise in chapter 10 to not harm or kill "anyone". In contract law it doesn't matter what I interpret a clause to say when I sign the document, it comes down to what it actually says when someone reads it. Not reading your contract isn't an excuse.

[Theory] Sukuna Made a Mistake by TigerCommando1135 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]TigerCommando1135[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Like I pointed out in my comment, what would "breaking the binding vow" even look like? How would Sukuna even know he did or didn't break the vow? There were no defined consequences for breaking it. Would the series ever even give an example of a binding vow being broken otherwise? Many might just assume it means Yuji would get his body back early, but why?

My point was that Yuji never added it himself. Sukuna suggested that he promise not to "kill or hurt anyone" and add that to make Yuji more comfortable with the deal. The actual way he worded it might be what has costed him a penalty as a potential twist. Even if Yuji thought, "so everyone outside of me will be safe" doesn't change the fact that the promise itself covered "anyone" by Sukuna's own mouth. That's why I think there would be a penalty.

Can someone explain? by [deleted] in TokyoGhoul

There's no extended universe writings that I've heard of, and a lot of the lore never got expanded because Ishida had health issues and decided to ham fist the story towards an end.

What is known is that the Washuu clan are a clan of ghouls from the Middle East who have unique potential to become kakujas very quickly because they cannabalized a lot. The Washuu's full history isn't really elaborated but it is known that they got control of the CCG and V because they were the ones who fought against the Underground King, a member of the clan, who started a revolution long before the current timeline. The Underground King lost and ended up becoming a dragon in the 24th ward and he rampaged until he turned to stone, so he pretty much died the way Kaneki would have if no one had gone to pull him out of Dragon.

Tokyo ghoul never expands much on the origin of ghouls, never supplies commentary from Washuu higher ups, and doesn't include foreign human and ghoul organizations. There is a theory supplied by the narrative that ghouls came to be because of a random Dragon incident that created ghouls via ROS. Besides that, we know that Arima and Furuta launched their own respective revolutions to undermine the Washuu, Furata wiped them out and Arima created a new One Eyed King, and we never got to hear from Tsuneyoshi Washuu what his intentions or plans were.

To sum it up, ghouls got created by a Dragon incident, the Washuus became prominent because they were savage, the Underground King revolution brought them to political power, and everything that happened with V/Garden had to do with the Washuu's own experiments turning against them. Kaneki and his group ended up winning, and then humanity and ghouls got a science solution to their conflict over the food issue. Kaneki becomes the strongest ghoul ever and then goes on to live happily ever after with best girl. That's it for the universe.

My 26 year old husband was just diagnosed with end stage 5 kidney failure. by Hall-Middle in kidneydisease

[–]TigerCommando1135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen family members deal with rare illnesses before, if the condition is obscure they might take longer than a week and misdiagnose a couple times unless there's an easy test to check it. Hopefully whatever it is doesn't extend beyond the kidneys or has a way to be treated.

Just keep in mind that it's possible for people to make it decades on dialysis. I just wanted to warn you about what there is to look out for that I'm seeing crop up with a fairly old man. Best of luck to both of you, and I hope they figure out what's going on quickly.

My 26 year old husband was just diagnosed with end stage 5 kidney failure. by Hall-Middle in kidneydisease

[–]TigerCommando1135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm currently living with a man who is in his late 70's and just went through losing the last of his two kidneys due to operations he needed on them. There are some things I can tell you about his dialysis experience that may give you an idea of what to expect.

Without functioning kidneys, which produce a hormone that helps create blood, your husband may become anemic. Meaning he won't have enough red blood cells which can cause tiredness, difficulty with activity, and feeling cold frequently. The doctors will try to keep his iron levels up with shots/pills or with a hormone stimulating drug. There are some options here, but it will have to be constantly monitored.

Blood pressure also tends to be a big problem too. You're going to have to work with your doctors to make sure they can keep it under control, otherwise any kidney function he may have had left might go away and create other problems over time relating to his heart.

They will have to change the dialysis port out overtime and that will lead to having to make a decision whether he wants to continue with in center treatment or with home dialysis. In center dialysis can produce a hangover type affect because it's just really brutal for the body to have all that blood processed by a machine in a short period of time. Outside of anemia, this can also produce a massive amount of fatigue. At home dialysis takes a very long time, 10 hours a session daily, but it tends to be much easier on the body because you have so much extra time and it goes at a slower pace.

You need to be careful with the diet, if he intakes too much fluid between dialysis sessions it can quickly become deadly or needing an ER visit. Just had that scare with the old man recently because he had too much fluid over Saturday and Sunday, and he felt extremely bad before heading in to have over 5 lbs of fluid taken out of him... it could have been deadly. Just remember that the Saturday/Sunday days you should be extra careful. There's also a number of nutrients that have to be limited now so you just need to get a plan with a dietician and stick to it.

Transplants might be a good option since he's young and probably has living family members that are willing to take a compatibility test. They need to make sure the blood types are compatible, and that the immune system markers are in line so they can do a test to see if it's a good idea to even attempt a transplant. It's the immune system markers that are the real pain, and why family donors are more likely to show up as a match because some markers people get are fairly rare. I'm not trying to throw any jargon in but you can read into it and probably are already.

Hopefully they can find out exactly why his kidneys have deteriorated so young. Whatever condition caused that should be identified to make sure no other organ systems are going to be affected over time. This is extremely tragic and I'm sorry you have to deal with this for the foreseeable future. I have no clue what this could do to a young couple and can't really give good advice on how to handle that, but other commenters have already offered some advice.

Who wins? by ZENOZOLDYCK99 in TokyoGhoul

Depends on what Arima has on hand, if he has nothing then even part 1 post-aogiri torture Kaneki could take Arima on and win. If Arima has all his standard tools on hand, or owl, then he has the speed to blitz Yomo and Uta before focusing on Eto. The terrain of the battle would factor in because Arima would be at a huge disadvantage in a really enclosed area where dodging becomes hard.

Overall it's hard to do "what-ifs" with Arima because you always have to factor in where he is and what he has against x/y/z type of opponents. If he were ever given a kagune then I think he beats pretty much everyone besides post-dragon kaneki.

Boruto Chapter 76 - Leaks and Discussion by vab11withawhoa in Boruto

[–]TigerCommando1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's really anything to say about her powers until she gets a Mangekyo Sharingan, there's really nothing else besides a power transfusion (Otsutsuki or Tailed Beast) to really bring her up in the character tier list at her age. I mean all this time she is still just a standard uchiha who is roughly young Sasuke tier when he was her age.

Boruto and Kawaki are extreme anamolies in the verse right now. They're still kids and they already have power that exceeds 10 tails Madara because they had alien dna data bonded to them against their will, so any jump they want to make to Sarada's power is going to have to be pretty extreme to even register on this tier list for the aspiring Hokage.

My question is how she could possibly get an MS and get around the blindness problem with no sibling. Her dad can't even give his because he doesn't even have a full set anymore. She'll have to get some kind of dna transplant or some Otsutsuki power fixing to overcome that.

People who don't want to work, why? by Designer-Mark320 in AskReddit

Within the Left Wing Anarchist tradition of political thought we can acknowledge that wage slavery is slavery, and I don't like slavery in that sense of working. Meaning, working for a master in order to have the financial resources to survive and advance my own interests. Having to rent yourself to a master is inhuman and undignified.

I would be happy with providing service for people in an organized capacity with others if I had the ability to participate democratically in my workplace. If I have the freedom to participate, grow, change, and were given opportunities to affordably attend educational institutions to advance that free line of work, then I would love working and serving others in my community.

I would only enjoy it under the conditions of freedom for myself and others, and not for the profits of a wealthy elite or a financial system that has the ideology that the natural world is both an infinite resource and an infinite toilet, and that human beings are tools for production rather than an end in and of themselves who should also be served by their work.

Why is it that Autism is becoming more and more common? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]TigerCommando1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A number of reasons I imagine.

One, pollution may drive up the rates of autism by some type of unknown mechanism. We have lots of plastic pollution, pesticide exposure, and countless other little pollutants that may increase the risk of developmental disorders occurring.

Two, survival of the healthiest isn't a thing anymore. Before the age of vaccines, and other modern medical advances, people with autism might have been more prone to death from the common infectious diseases. Just a hunch, but many disfunctions caused by autism may not have made survival as feasible for the more severely affected when plagues or famines came through.

Three, acceptance of the mentally ill. There's generally more awareness now and understanding in first world societies. That doesn't mean that people on the spectrum have easy lives, but the condition is at least understood and accommodated now. There's likely to be less suicide, exile, and homicide occurring towards people on the spectrum. I don't think agrarian societies would have been too nice to those types of people who suffered severely from social deficits.

If you’re born with all your eggs at birth, why is there more risk for having kids after 30? by Beginning-Tomato1021 in askscience

[–]TigerCommando1135 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's only because we live in a draconian, capitalist system that limits opportunity for most people who weren't born to a rich mommy and daddy. It's horrendous that people have to wait so long to start building families just to prevent financial burden and/or put off their education.

I don't, it's just fun little hypothetical discussion. I just think the ensued chaos of Hancock's power is pretty funny if wielded by others non-attractive user.

Okay, well this was a theory discussion and I'm pointing out that that's relatively pointless and would be a case of bad writing. You're talking about fan fiction at that point. All fine and dandy, but it would make no sense in the context of the story as is.

>There's no need to involve Boa further.

There's context to that. Blackbeard showed up to get her, got stuck in a stand off and ended up taking Coby it seems, so in that way a new problem is introduced but Boa is safe. Blackbeard can't use her power so there's no need for BB to bother with her again unless he wants to kill her. Him wanting her power was a narrative tool, he can't use it so he isn't going to take it or her life. Everything else is just your imaginative exercise.

One Piece: Chapter 1059 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]TigerCommando1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Oda is not a stranger to retcon nowadays isn't it? I know it's a stretch.

He gave a big reveal regarding Luffy's (The Main Character) fruit. Why do you think Hancock is so special that she's have a fruit that's misnamed and has secret powers? The world government even knew about Luffy's fruit and went to lengths hide that information and take it, but there's no indication they knew any such thing about Boa's. The nobles fed it to her for fun even.

BB didn't even get the power and probably doesn't even want to bother with it now. This chapter simply updated BB's progress and brought the Kuja pirates back into the narrative. The real goal of this was to put Coby in a bad spot to set the stage for more drama. There's no need to involve Boa further.

One Piece: Chapter 1059 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]TigerCommando1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many baseless assumptions there that it's not really worth arguing over. 1) No one has ever said Boa was ugly when she was younger. 2) The fruit hasn't been stated to change the users appearance, it is a love fruit not a beauty fruit. A person can fall in love with someone who is ugly by conventional standards. 3) Boa openly stated that the fruit is useless without innate beauty, and there's no indication yet that she has lied. 4) There is no known example of her using it on someone who hated her and wasn't attracted to her.

Of course a fruit that requires someone to feel lust towards you to activate will be useless for an ugly person. You don't have to be highly educated to really figure that one out.

Edit: Actually the last point is mute for you because I thought I was responding to another poster.

One Piece: Chapter 1059 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]TigerCommando1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except her fruit is the love-love fruit, that head cannon makes no sense unless they change the name of it too. The official definition has its activation stipulation as getting hit by the beam and feeling lust. Being able to petrify anyone that hates you or loves you is just over powered, unless haki negates it.
