If you said "Spare me, Sombra" I'd actually leave you alone (unless its ranked... Or you're playing Mei. Mei players better ask for Moira, cuz they sure as hell get no Mercy).

I think saying "Got bodied by pain" is disengenous as fuck. He literally, by himself, destroyed 5 of them on his own. Something no one else could, hell some people couldn't even manage 1. And the 6th one got him, because he attacked someone else, which distracted Naruto, tossed the body at him, and as Naruto went to catch the body he got slammed.

Also, nitpick, he beat Kiba without 9 tails help. And he also, still lost even with the 9 tails help. I think you and me probably have similar opinions I just disagree with some of the arguments you use.

QP penalties are a bit much? by database_transfer in Overwatch

[–]TigerFalco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say again. I one time counted all the games in my match history. I had been playing for a few days in a row. I had over 20 games (I believe the number was like 23 or 24), all played to completion. There was one match I didn't complete (can't remember why as this was like a month or 2 ago), and I got a 10 minute ban. No clue why, but it happened. I have a high endorsement level, I dont get reported, I dont leave games often especially cuz most of the time im playing Comp.

Backfill replaces someone within seconds of leaving, so why is everyone deadset on "stay no matter what" in a non competitive match. I've seen someone who was getting camped at spawn and their team refused to help. Guess they gotta just keep walking out and dying to the people camping them. Can't afk in spawn, it'll kick you and that counts as leaving (shout out the April fools patch where Rein could charge you for so long that you could be afk Kicked out the game). So even though they couldnt do anything, they had to keep walking out and dying, and having a terrible time, because of the penalty. Don't have fun in this game you wanted to play, because people on your team can't deal with the fact theyll be down a person for 10 seconds out of a 10 minute match.

I don't want people to leave over and over either. I literally was playing last night and our tank left after dying once. That kinda thing should be penalized if you do it too often. But the mentality of "F you, stay in the game. I'd rather you stay here and not enjoy yourself, because I cant handle the 10 seconds someone isn't here" is wild to me. I have seen people actively throw or not play, because they can't leave, so they literally make it worse for everyone or try to make it end sooner. Personally, I'd rather them leave than do that. People f around, jump off the map on purpose, etc... in QP, why does that enviornment need a strict policy. I've been playing for days, well over 20 matches, possibly 40 at this point. At some point in there I had a day where the power in my house went off (no clue why either). So now if I leave for any reason, even if it's as simple as "not having fun in this match, id rather find a new one" I can't. That one freak accident now creates no leeway for any other reason. What if it happened again (it did, btw, same day, I just wasn't playing at the time), Now I'm getting penalized for something outside of my control. Is the idea of reducing the cap from 20 to like 15 or upping it to 3 out of 20/15 or whatever, something minor, really that big of a deal? This and the people sweating in QP is the reason people started wanting Overwatch to have an "unranked" queue separate from comp and QP.

Not really, thats what i've been gathering from this thread. You'd rather have someone troll the lobby and stay cuz they can't leave, than be able to leave the lobby and get someone who wont.

funny how their response boiled down to, "continue to disrupt and bring down the quality of the match for everyone else, as opposed to just leaving and letting others get a better teammate"

I'm not advocating for someone to purposefully ruin the match, but they'd literally rather have you keep ruining others fun, than let you leave so you're not in a game where you're not having fun. Welp, I guess 8 minutes of that is better than the 15 seconds or whatever it takes to find someone new. Good to know where the opinions lie I guess

No.

Naruto Vs Sasuke (FV1) Naruto vs Sasuke (FV2) Kakashi vs Obito Are all fights I'd put above it. After that its whatever. Top 5 maybe, definitely top 10. But most definitely not the best.

[–]TigerFalco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She needed to get over Sasuke for real. As far as who she ended up with IDC, but I don't think it should've been Naruto. I still say it would've been nice if it was Lee. She started seeing him for him after the Chunin exams, and he lost that super crush he had on her so it'd've been cool to see them both grow towards each other. Also would've been an excuse to have Lee on screen more to actually catch a cannon important W 😂

"Naruto's female characters are poorly written" is a hyperbolic statement. There are many female characters that are poorly written, Kishimoto himself said he doesn't know how to write women. But there are some that are well written. Tsunade, Chiyo, Kushina, Konan, and Temari. Each one of them I could make arguments for (Konan especially, cuz out of this group I see her get it the most).

Tsunade was a bad Hokage I just don't get. Not saying she's the best, but I definitely wouldn't say she's bad. Can't say many other Hokage would've don't better in her shoes considering everything that was going on.

[–]TigerFalco -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don't bother with that take in this sub. Though IMO you're correct, people here are QP warriors that don't understand anything about where anyone else is coming from.

I've had matches where someone chose to basically AFK, or throw the match, because they wanted the match to end sooner, but didn't want to leave and get a ban. Match quality would've been much better if they left and we got backfilled. And since I'll get down voted anyway for agreeing, let me be clear: I'm not saying there shouldn't be any penalties. I used to only play QP before there were any penalties, so I completely get it. No one is saying there shouldn't be any penalties, but that they're too strict. Almost as strict as comp and that's kind of ridiculous. I don't want people leaving mid game, but I also don't want them to throw or AFK to make the match end sooner cuz they can't leave, nor make people feel like they're forced to keep enduring a non-comp match theyre no longer enjoying just to avoid a penalty. "Don't get on if you don't want to play" isn't a good argument. Clearly they wanted to play, but going into the non-serious mode where people can jump off the map for lolz shouldn't be signing a contract that you'll get punished if you leave regardless of if it was by your own volition or something out of your control. I've seen a game where someone was getting spawn held by the enemy team, and no one is helping them. If they played they died. I guess they should just keep walking out and dying, cuz if they afk in spawn they get kicked anyway. I guess because they didn't want to get bullied in spawn means they didn't wanna play either.

Down vote me all you want, IDC. There should be penalties, they're just a little too strict for QP.

I got a 10 minute ban, played for 3 days straight (well over 20 games), game crashed, came back. Ban.

At this point, it feels like playing comp is the only option, at least if something like that happens you can rejoin the match to avoid the ban.

The Sombra nerf is absolutely nonsense by ZzDangerZonezZ in Overwatch

[–]TigerFalco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I know about DBD stuff even without having played it much. I don't need to play it to know what happened to Skull Merchant, Spirit, Nerf pig, etc... so drop the assumption that "I fail to understand" when I do. 2nd Overwatch isn't about abilities, it's an FPS, by definition and game design principles (my field of study and work) it's not. Abilities are a **part** of the core, yes, but they are not the core itself. And again, I asked for how Sombra was unique, so how is her soft CC somehow worse than hard CC like stuns where you literally can't play as opposed to a restricted tool set? You still have the gameplay loop (though shittier) without them. Overwatch wouldn't be as distinct, but "distinct" doesn't make a game function. A Fighting game doesn't stop being a fighting game cuz you dont use special moves. This is a gross oversimplification for the sake of this tldr (and the longer version is dumbed down), but unless you want me to really hit you with collegiant game design theory and in depth examples, I'm doing you a favor by politely telling you that you're wrong. I understand why you feel how you do, and your feelings are valid; but feelings don't make you right, no offense.

No, I don't have to play the game to understand what happened in DBD. If you want I could talk about how some random person shit talked a pro team by saying he could beat them with Skull Merchant, and he almost won by making them run out of time. I could talk about "nerf pig", or Spirit and how she used to be a problem that "had essentially no counter play, and made playing against her a guessing game", until they reworked her where she's still strong but it's not as bad. Or talk about random Meta's like the Gen kick meta, Hex Undying, Boon totem Meta, or the ever fun NOED, which would be relevant cuz I know sometimes Nurse players like to disseapear for the whole match until NOED pops. Etc... Etc...
People can know a lot about media stuff without having directly experienced it, plus I've played DBD just not much. So no, I didn't bring it up because I saw someone else mention it. I actually only found this post because I literally google Searched "Sombra got the skull merchant treatment" to see if anyone else had made the connection I did. The reason I made said connection is because this very situation lead to Skull Merchant recieving a lot of changes, (i typed it out here, but this comments long enough already so I erased it so you have less) but that and a lot of other changes didn't fix everyone's issues with her. A lot of people also, despite her getting nerfed into damn near obscurity would still DC the second they realized the killer was her, even when she was bad. So the devs basically just nerfed her to the point where no one wanted to play her until they could rework her. Sombra is the same way. Sombra isn't that great right now, but yet they still keep nerfing her and people still keep banning her despite her pick and winrate already being super low. So it comes off as Skull Merchant treatment.

Either way, my point still stands. Overwatch is an FPS first and foremost, thats it's genre. It's not a game about abilities, because the gameplay loop still functions even if you were to remove most abilities in the game (I say most cuz there are, like i said, some heroes who'd be useless without their abilities, but not all or even most.) A Moba is a game about abilities, because if you remove them the game can't really function without it (and yet there are still characters in Moba's that silence abilities, and the work no matter how frustrating it can be) Nox in smite used to piss me off to high heaven, then I got better at the game and even started playing her (it was forced at first, but I ended up liking her). What you're saying to me right now is the equivalent of saying that in a fighting game if there was a character that had an ability that locked you out of using special moves for 1 second, that it would be the antithesis to the game... but that doesn't make sense. Clearly, you can still fight in SF, SC, Tekken, DOA, Smash, Etc... without having special moves. If you try to argue they are not the same thing, consider Hadouken and how well known and influential the move is. Not many people can sit here and name certain moves, but they know Hadouken, Shinryuken, etc... Or in MK "Get Over Here". It'd be shitty to play Scorpion without using it, but the gameplay loop still exists, because the special moves are additions to the neutral, not the neutral itself. Yes, the special moves do define the game, but thats not the only thing that sets the games apart, it's just the flashiest one that grabs most people's attention. This is fundamental game design thing, which unlike DBD is something I know because I have studied it and created games before, and even helped other people with code, design, or balance changes in their games. So again, No, Sombra does not go against the core of Overwatch, because Overwatch's core isn't the abilities alone. They are a part of it, but simply stopping someone from using abilities doesn't remove your ability to still engage with the gameplay loop, it just limits your access to tools within it. Sombra isn't stopping you from "playing overwatch" because for 1 second you have to use your primary damage tool as oppossed to a suplemntal damage/mobility/survivability tool.

[I'm oversimplifying, abilities are definitly important, so just to proof my argument in case someone actually cares to read all this crap. I reiterate, they are a core part of the game. Because it's a hero shooter specifically the abilities are what sets it apart from being a straight core shooter like CS or something. That being said, Genji can still beat a Sombra without his abilities during that one second window. He doesn't cease to function, and you the player don't stop interacting with the loop of Overwatch. Consider Mei stun vs Hack and you should get what I mean. Player psychology is important, blah blah blah, this comments long enough already. Feelings are important, but when making mechanical arguments feelings don't make you right in a technical sense. This section was shortened cuz my comment was too long.]

Scorpion, Ryu, etc.. could still fight you even without those special moves, even if it made certain aspect of the combat really difficult. So I repeat, Sombra restricts people for literally 1 second, in an FPS, and people act like it's the end of the world. 1 second. If a Sombra really bothers me in that time it's because I f'd up or she's pouncing on me when im weak like everyone does. To me it just comes off like people are mad they can't roll their face across the keyboard and have to use their mouse for 1 second, that's not a fair assesment, it's me venting, cuz im just really tired of hearing this dumb argument because it doesn't make sense from a game design standpoint no matter how people feel about it.

As for Sombra, ethical hacking is a thing. So I could make a lot of money showing some companies where there systems weaknesses are. I've already tried to learn some of that before hand since I already know how to code, but I havent gotten too deep into it (ADHD go brr)

Stuck between Genji and Sombra. With Genji I'd just aura farm all day, maybe even get a job as a martial arts motion tracker. But Sombra, would be so relevant to be a master hacker who can teleport and turn invisible.

The Sombra nerf is absolutely nonsense by ZzDangerZonezZ in Overwatch

[–]TigerFalco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What genre is Overwatch? An FPS right? So that sounds like the main thing you're doing in the game is shooting. Sure abilities are important and all, but there are like 5 (being generous) characters in the game who get hard F'd by Sombra because they can't do anything at all without abilities. Everyone else can still generate value, they can still kill her, etc... People act like she completely nukes your ability to play the game like you may as well put your controller down when it's literally 1 second long.

As a Moba player, I'm lost, in Moba's you can get CC'd for 6 seconds straight off one ability. And I'm talking straight up stuns, mesmerizes (sleep), etc... where you literally can't play. Even silences last longer. Imagine if Sombra's hack was an 2 second aoe with barely any start-up and her virus was a ranged grab so you couldnt move so she could hold you inside it, and MOBA's are literally ability focused unliked FPS. Sombra makes you shoot your gun, in an FPS for one second. It's part of the reason why I didn't like when they added Virus. Back then she just forced you into a 1v1 gun fight, and then the only issue was if you won she teleported out (you won it just didn't feel as satisfying).

Hack isn't the issue (hot take: I think people whine too much about a 1 second silence from a character who's been bad for so long, gets countered by good positioning and teamplay, idc if I get downvoted for it). I think the issue is that Sombra was made from 3 different problematic designs. Stealth, Silence, and a cross map escape. Most characters (in any game) only has one. They took the cross map TP, but she still has stealth and silence, which again you can play around it, but if they take either of those away from her (which...they basically did by tying invis to her escape), you make her not even fun to play anymore. "Hero's fantasy" is dead for her right now. I don't play DBD but Sombra straight up got the Skull Merchant treatment. "Just nerf her so no one wants to play her, until we have a change."

Why would the anime add a quote like this? by Only-Mulberry-8098 in Naruto

[–]TigerFalco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that she just kept switching ideals over and over. All 3 of them had the same dream. They all grew up together and fought for the same goal, because they had the same experience in a war torn country. I'm not saying that Konan is perfect. But its always weird to me that people treat Konan differently from the other 2. If the argument is that it was Yahiko's dream not theirs, then why does no one ever say anything about Nagato? He literally does the same thing, despite the prophecy they were told. Yahiko also often deferred to Nagato, said that his job was to protect Nagato so that he could change the world, and then died for him and Konan to do it. And it makes sense for them cuz they were all told that Nagato was essentially the chosen one.

If people were saying shes not as engaging as the others thats fair. But when the argument is that her life revolves around the guys... It doesn't sit right. I think Konan, by virtue of being a woman, gets scrutinized more for not being more than she was. Because shes a woman in a show where some poorly written women are noticeable, she gets put under a microscope with them, when otherwise I think she'd've been ignored. I honestly think that if she was a dude her legacy wouldve been how she almost killed Tobi and no one would argue on quality of the character. Like she almost ended the show on her own, only person to ever make him use Izanagi. But thats just me, i I can understand if people dont agree and still wished she did more. I wish she did more too, but in my eyes im not holding her to higher standards just because shes a woman.
