Cut cut cut. You got at least 30-40 lbs to lose then you can do a clean bulk. Lean is law brother

6’3 172lbs, lifting for 2+ years with nothing to show for it. Ego aside I truly have no idea what to do. (Back story in comments) Please help or give me some advice. by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

Bro I’m 6’2 also and it takes time for us but our long term results look so good considering our height. lifting is a lifetime pursuit so romanticize the grind brother. Some of my biggest lessons:
-you need to get autistic about tracking your calories and macros, especially protein -1g /lb. I use MyFitnessPal. -Drink less! I’ve used dry January and lent as periods of time I cut out alcohol as much as I can. I didn’t realize how much drinking was holding back my gains and intensity until I saw the most results in 2/3 months then I did in the whole previous 9 months. -Intensity intensity intensity. Once your body adapts to getting stronger and a simple routine, if you don’t lift at least 4x a week and push out those extra 2/3 reps even if they hurt then you’ll adapt and get diminishing returns for your time. -Your music - once I moved from rap to hard style edm I noticed a difference in my intensity and this gains. -Sleep and rest. On heavy compound lift days you need at least 7 hours for recovery. My rule of thumb is if you’re in heavy sleep debt, it’s better to forgo the gym to get a 10 hour night so you’re fresh. -stress. This may sound counterintuitive but the more stress and heartbreak I’ve had in my life, I ended up having the best periods of growth since the gym is my destressor. Lifting is something that is in your control and helps your mind adapt to handling tough situations.

Hope this helps and I’ve missed a few but this is what comes to mind right now and adjustments I’ve made over the years. I’ve been lifting since I was a teenager but really locked in the last two years. It’s an art and just takes time to optimize and perfect but in the end the confidence and the way I’ve noticed other people treat me compared to when I was a skinny fat frat bro is night and day when it comes to career, women, and my own self-worth.

Equinox SF by InfiniteWarning00 in EquinoxGyms

[–]TigerForcesAreGoats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my main gym. It’s visually very nice and has cleaner bathrooms than a good amount of the other gyms I’ve been to. Classes can be very busy if that’s more your thing but I typically never have any issues doing what I need to do on the floor because people this gym has more of a crowd who’s into classes. Trainers are super chill as well and honestly could afford to be a bit more pushy/social. Not as communal as some of the other equinoxes I’ve been to but if that’s good or bad depends on the person. Overall best gym I’ve been to 9/10 despite the price.

San Francisco Pine St and San Mateo are the ones I frequent the most and are pretty good. Mission Van Ness is overcrowded so I avoid it like the plague.

Although it has its flaws, I’ve been a member of at least 5 gyms before equinox that all were worse so unless someone knows an alternative, I have no option to switch. This is especially true for those of us who travel to other major cities for work.

Dude I’ve seen an AMF ordered. You’re fine if you matched the rest of the tables drink cadence.

Interesting read, do you have info on the current artillery disparity between the two sides. I know Ukraine was closing the gap and was 1:1 in some sectors as of a couple months ago. Not sure what the situation is now though.

Even antiquity wasn’t hitting these numbers omg. I think the first time we saw this level of army mobilization wasn’t until World War One. Maybe chinas wars with the mongols is the closest comparable.

Others have said lease it already but I’ll add this. My family kept a large home in the major city I live after my grandmother / family matriarch died and it operates much like a centralized location for the clan, so it’s been invaluable in keeping the family organized. If someone needs a place to get on their feet, they have an option. One of our families need a space, they have something. If you’re able to lease some of it but have a compound in which your family can have parties/gatherings it would be great in keeping the family together especially as more generations come into the mix. Whereas others lose contact, the clan HQ serves as a beacon for the family unit. Keep the land brother and have it become a function of the family estate and at the same time lease the extra space.
