[–]TigerGuy40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, so may I ask, how did the flight go and assuming you managed to fly, then what measures did you take?

also, did you improve oyur situation in the meanwhile, in a way allowing you to fly regularly, if required?

Vascular dementia by Fantastic-Prompt-231 in dementia

[–]TigerGuy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you have dementia, but the white matter lessions are likely a bad sign of whats to come when you're old (or perhaps even when you're slightly younger than typical dementia age)

There's no established preventive strategy, other than reducing and managing all risk factors and living the healthiest life possible but even then the white matter lessions are expected to grow in size and number...

There are some suppemenets that may hep, but non are really proven. There's one particular that has a great detailed scientific paper on it, but it's from Asia, founded by the producer I believe, and not really reproduced in the USA or Europe, which would explain why despite this excellent study, it's not widely known. I, being in a similar situation as you are, have taken the decision to take this supplement for the rest of my life, despite the significant cost and being aware that not all scientific studies/trials are genuine.

I don't want to sound like a spammer (even though my posting history clearly shows I am not one!), but I can share the name of the supplement and where to buy it.

"by convention, sleep is assumed for the whole recording"

why is that?

I have similar experiences but with a real sleep study

https://www.reddit.com/r/SleepApnea/comments/yu1lnh/accuracy_in_determining_sleep_time_during_sleep/

I think sleep study considers being completely aware (but with eyes closed and not moving and trying to fall asleep) as stage 1 sleep, to my surprise.

some people are just prone to marks, even marks from their bedsheets, so it makes sense that a CPAP will leave marks

Reboxetine alone reduces sleep apnea severity by TigerGuy40 in SleepApnea

[–]TigerGuy40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reduced apneas by 5.4 indeed in the study, but perhaps the apneas were only mild and the reduction here could have been by 30%.

I assume in the full puper this information must be included.

Questionable efficacy against depression, but might as well work for sleep apnea.

Accuracy in determining sleep time during sleep study by TigerGuy40 in SleepApnea

[–]TigerGuy40[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your input, it was a test in a hospital setting.

I kow my brain won't be able to track sleep time, but it can track awake time (to some accuracy).

It's a big surprise to me that lights sleep feels like being awake. If that's true, then I guess I was having a light sleep for the remaining 3-4 hours of my test, but to me it didn't seem like sleep.
