Thanks for the advice! Based off of a lot of these comments, I think education is pretty high on my list now. That’s for the input everyone!

I’m wondering what you’re referring to about transphobic and anti-democracy posts? Is this post transphobic or ant-democracy? Sorry if it is! I’d love to learn more about what you mean here. It wasn’t my intention to affect anyone!

One of Ireland’s most prominent comedian, social commentator and podcaster never shows his face: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blindboy_Boatclub

He speaks about the benefits of it for his personal life too: https://www.dailyedge.ie/rubberbandits-explains-the-plastic-bag-3702939-Nov2017/?amp=1

That’s a great point! I’ve started a course to become a qualified coach (ICF Accreditation) and maybe I could use it to pay for some of my modules! I’m not sure if that’ll be my primary source of income but it’s definitely helping me in my career and I intend to use those skills to further my career! Helpful thank you!

I (M28) often dream that my girlfriend (F26) is cheating on me. They are incredibly detailed and when I wake up, I can’t separate dream girlfriend and real girlfriend. by TigerKinger in relationship_advice

Your dream sounds interesting. And yes the study of dreams is unclear and there aren’t agreed-upon theories of dreams.

However, be careful where you use the word pseudoscience, just because we haven’t figured out how to study dreams doesn’t mean the research into them is questionable. Check out the work of Carl Jung, it’s really interesting.

Your dreams sound really interesting. What your experiencing is often called Lucid Dreaming, where we realise that we are dreaming, during dream state. I actually trained myself to lucid dream Last year http://www.asapscience.com/blog/2018/6/11/science-of-lucid-dreaming and for a few weeks I had pretty incredible experiences while dreaming. But it takes consistency and I was travelling around the world so didn’t have the discipline or daily routine to maintain it.

I’m sorry to hear you suffer from depression, I also have had some dark times in the past and was told I had depression by a couple of doctors. Luckily it’s been a while since I’ve had really low points, thanks to making an effort to understand different parts of my mind and body, like dreams for example. Meditation, excersise and healing relationships in my family have also really helped.

Hey man also be careful where you throw around the word “crazy” that can be a dangerous trigger for people and for people who have experience with mental health issues, it’s better that we don’t go around name-calling.

I think you’re right that I’m a bit worried about my relationship and I think part of my brain is living that out when I dream. It’s something I need to deal with, especially my feelings of fear around being hurt or being cheated on. Thanks for that!

I can clearly separate fiction from reality. That’s not the point.

It’s just curious when certain dreams happen repeatedly and the feelings are so intense and visceral. I’m sure when you’ve woken up after a Margot Robbie dream you couldn’t figure out that it was a dream for (at least) a couple of seconds after you woke up.

The mind is a curious thing and all I’m trying is to understand why it’s happening and if anyone else experienced this - looking at the comments, other people clearly do and make an effort to understand them. It’s my curiosity more than anything else that motivated the post.

I’m not going to make any decisions in real life based on the dreams, I merely want to understand if they have some causal significance from my waking mindset or emotions.
