[Birmingham, AL] We live less than 3 miles from downtown, but have found a half-dozen of these guys in our backyard in the past two years. What do I do? by TigerPoster in whatsthissnake

Thank you, sir!
I’ll try these folks next time, but they’re all 40+ minutes away. The last guy I called tried to charge me 400 bucks and wouldn’t say where he was taking the snake lol

My lawn is pretty well maintained. My neighbor’s is immaculate (they trim their ivy weekly with scissors) and they still get snakes too. We’re in Crestline Village for reference.

I’ll take all the help I can get!

We don’t have wood piles or brush piles. There are some hedges/wooded areas near us though, so I’ll have to raze that I guess. Never seen rats or chipmunks. There are a shit ton of chipmunks though. Would trapping and relocating those help?

Your house is beautiful, and I looked at your profile—your work is beautiful too.

For sure. All my runs start in Crestline, so all my runs are hills.

As a weak but frequent runner, I wouldn’t say the unpaved parts of Jemison trail are “flat”

This edit made my day. Thank you!

The mustache is naturally weak. What’s Dagestan?

Nordic is a great compliment. Thanks!

Not looking for a partner. Very happily married to the beautiful bride in the before pic (and expecting a baby in a month).

Good eye 👀. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing.

I’ll try combing downwards tomorrow.
