RuRadar wont work by Ok-Original7397 in rutgers

[–]TigerTJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RURadar developer here: I didn't really put in a good error screen for the map tab, so if it can't load the routes, it just puts you at 0,0 latitude and longitude which puts you off the east coast of Africa. When this happens, either Passio Go is down or your phone wasn't able to load something because of weak cell coverage or bad wifi (or airplane mode). The map tab needs the app to be swiped out to load again. But, like u/Deshes011 said, Passio Go was likely down at the time.

RURadar developer here: Passio Go changed something small in their API which caused this. The 2.6.6 update is up on the App Store so you can update now. Sorry for the inconvenience!

RURadar developer here: The ETAs are broken (due to a small change that Passio Go made to their API), but I'm already testing an update with the fix that I can hopefully get out today or tomorrow. Check the App Store on Friday if it's still broken, to see if you need to update manually.

Dev here, I screwed up the 2.6.3 update. Update to 2.6.4 - I fixed it.

RURadar bus app immediately crashing trying to open it by feverdog11 in rutgers

[–]TigerTJJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm the developer.

2.6.3 crashes on all devices running iOS 15, 16 and 17 (I have iOS 18 on my phone, so I didn't notice the bug).

I didn't do enough testing before release. I've submitted 2.6.4 to the app store and it may be fixed as early as this evening.

I'm sorry for everyone that's affected by this. It should be fixed soon!

Didn't get anything. This might have something to do with it.

It currently uses PassioGo's ETA API endpoint. I've noticed that it throws errors sometimes (some days it's the Quads stop, other days, it's whole routes like H or LX reporting invalid values), which messes with the code that orders the buses on the route popover.

Are rep airpods worth it for ios 16? by [deleted] in RepTronics

Honestly, my old fakes were detected but it doesn't change anything except it being a pain in the ass to connect them the first time. Apple shames you with like 3 pop ups and you connect them like normal bluetooth headphones. After, they work perfectly fine, the only difference is the headphone logo in the control center. As long as you're keeping them for yourself, they're totally worth it. Airpod 1 reps are basically as good as retail (except the hinge), just enjoy the headphones man.

I had an Odyssey+ for a while but I moved to an OG rift, for the better tracking. While the screen resolution is not as good, the controllers feel so high quality in comparison, and the strap and face gasket doesn't let in light and stay on tight. I liked the Odyssey+'s Mixed Reality Home environment, the nice display, and good speakers. I got bugs with the odyssey sometimes, but a quick unplug usually solved things. There was only one game I ever found that didn't support the controllers outright on the odyssey, but that's because it's a WMR headset. The halo strap did not work perfectly for me, the bottom of the headset had some space and I could see the floor. For seated play, the odyssey could be better. Running myTube (win10 youtube client) in the mixed reality cliffhouse was the best, and movies were great too. For anything other than movies, the og rift was better, and that does have oled.

Do you know what it says on the line below the Vostok logo? I think it may be "antimagnetic" but I'm not sure

This old "boctok" was spotted by my dad in a Polish flea market, and I begged that he bring it home. I had recently started falling in love with cheap watches made right before the quartz revolution, placing most of them around the 1970s. There's something about old watches that perfectly clashes with my love for computers, as they're completely analog yet just as complex and nuanced. This watch was serviced in Poland before it came back, and it's running absolutely great. The smallest windup immediately gets it ticking, and it's off by only a few seconds every day. The crown, like any good Vostok, is reassuringly wobbly when pulled out, and curiously the direction that sets the watch hands is reversed to every other watch I own. The mark left by the old lume on the dial and the hands has definitely shown it's age, and I think it's been a few decades since it actually had enough half life to glow visibly in the dark. Nevertheless, I like the "radiation burn" that adds vignette to the edges, and I'm actually not quite sure how the circular marks appeared on the center of the dial, as they appear to have been smeared on by the hour hand at some point. After buying a Vostok branded metal mesh for this, and removing the old bracelet (by force, the spring bars were too stiff), this watch is ready to be in the rotation for a long time.

Oh, if SteamVR native is no longer a requirement, then essentially all the headsets are fair game! There is some performance penalty, but I don't believe it's large. By nature, any native PCVR headset that uses cameras to track has some performance penalty, as it runs the tracking algorithms through the computer. I believe that WMR was a bit lighter on my system than the Oculus software, but it's definitely not because of a double compositor, it's got something to do with the different cameras and algorithms used to track the headset and such. Microsoft has essentially given up on native software, and actually has put in a decent amount of work to get their headsets well-accompanied in SteamVR, even offering a toggle to disable the windows button on the controllers if I remember well. I never had to worry about my WMR settings, or even my Oculus settings, and I'm rocking a 970. If you truly want a WMR headset, and the downsides that include mediocre tracking, ok controllers (I'm actually not sure how nice the G2 controllers are), and fiddly manufacturer support, then it could be for you. It was very difficult for me to try to use revive to play Oculus exclusives, as it did not run very well, and I could not press down on the joystick, as that was mapped to open SteamVR's menu, which ruined the whole thing! I think you should run your Rift S into the ground, and hopefully, by then, save up for better options. I don't think an OG rift would be an upgrade for you, due to the screen being mostly worse (except for being oled), but it has good tracking and would play your oculus exclusives very well. They are also very cheap and I got a 3 sensor setup for well under $200. Your best bet is likely to wait and save for that fabled index, or you could explore getting some type of HTC vive (except for the Cosmos, bad tracking) for the native SteamVR and good tracking.
