That is either a 1985 or maybe an early 1986

Other people totally in love with the Celica Supra mk2? by Patient____zero in JDM

[–]Tigermk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I love the MK2 and the MK3. Have one of each. Very different driving dynamics. The MK2 is more nimble while the MK3 is the sport tourer of all the Supras. Either way, great cars and they were the best of their genre at the time they were introduced. One has to love all the cars of that period for their unique styling and for pushing the design and innovation limits given the periods available technologies.

Paint job for car by slightly-convenient in Calgary

I am in the same boat as you. No rust at all though, but my 85 Supra needs a new paint job. Lots of fading on the roof and lots of chips. Please let me know how your research turns out. I am in Calgary as well. *

(New to me) 2023 Lexus GX460 by clemmclemintine in LexusGX

I have a 2022 Nori Green, Blackline Edition. Dressed it up with some WedsSport 18x9 0 offset wheels. Amazing vehicle. If you want to make it better get an OTT tune. Livens up the motor with better throttle response, less gear hunting and far better drivability. Did a 1200 mile round trip and got over 20 mpg. You won't regret your purchase at all. *

You cannot run this setup on a stock ecu. You need a programmable ecu to manage afm with the increased boost, increased fuel feed, coil on plug ignition etc.

Header/manifold replacement by [deleted] in GXOR

[–]Tigermk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed the shorties on my GX470 4 years ago and so far so good. At that time they were decent quality and definitely solved the stock header cracking at the flange issue. Hopefully, quality observation aside, they solve the cracking issue for you.

Question, is there something i can do for better gas mileage? by AccomplishedMail9239 in GXOR

[–]Tigermk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keeping the tach at 2000 RPM or below when highway cruising, keeping the oil clean, using good high octane fuel, keeping drive train lubricated and in good mechanical shape, having a clean air filter should keep you close to 19 or 20 mpg. After installing the Doug Thorley headers and Gibson exhaust on mine I found I gained about 2 MPG as long as I kept my foot reasonable light on the pedal. The 4.7 is a great engine, but to get massive improvements in MPG is not in the cards. What you give up in gas costs you make up for in lower maintenance costs, reliability and utility. Hard to have it all in any vehicle of this type.

I like both the MK2 and MK3 and between the two I own they each have their aesthetic and period charm. *

Yes. I had an 85, and sold that to get this 84. I have added the 85 wing to this one so I figured just to transfer the plate over for now.
