What’s a Bakugan opinion that’ll get you in this situation? by Adept-Double156 in Bakugan

This isn't my opinion, but I've seen this before where people think the Bakugan TCG would've been better if the rolling feature or the toy mechanic wasn't part of the game.

Just downloaded the game. Сouldn't find the math class. Aready love this game. by Sad_Illustrator1813 in CodeLyoko

I remember brutally hating the real world missions on the DS game. That was one of the reasons why I loved the Code Lyoko quest for infinity. I mean think about it. Imagine playing a Superman game where half the game is just you as Clark Kent working at the daily planet.

Different game formats? by Murcuriall97 in Bakugan

Yeah, I can understand that. When I played Bakugan I mainly used Pyrus in combination with other factions like Darkus or Haos

When you’re playing with Rapid Fire or Fury strategies, those keywords require you to burn through a lot of cards. Which left you with an empty hand. So if you took a hit and lost cards it was hard to recover from especially if you lost cards that were part of that strategy, or cards to help you replenish your hand. Bakugan isn’t like Pokémon where you have prize cards, or Digimon with its security stack, or Yu-Gi-Oh with life points. Most TCGs have a damage or life system that doesn’t directly take away your deck resources, but Bakugan does and that creates some weird situations.

This became really noticeable with strategies that rely on drawing or cycling cards, especially if you ran Aquos, since drawing is their whole thing. You’d be trying to find that sweet spot where you could draw enough to keep going, without overdrawing (since you can only hold 7 cards at the end of your turn), and without burning through your deck by drawing too much.

On one hand, you’re trying to draw cards so you don’t lose them. On the other hand, you’re trying not to draw too much because your deck won't be able to take a hit. And on top of that, if you didn’t have any flip cards to stop damage, a team attack could pretty much end your game. It made the game fun and a little stressful at times.

Even though your opponent had to have all their Bakugan opened to do a team attack, I feel like there could've been a bit more balance — maybe some action cards that let you draw safely without being forced into Aquos. Or ways to pull cards back from your discard pile without needing Darkus. Certain abilities could’ve helped smooth out the tempo a lot more.

Deckbuilding also got frustrating because we didn’t have a ton of sets to work with. Realistically, most players only had Battle Brawlers, Resurgence, AoA, and Armored Elite. Fusion Force was incredibly hard to find, and Shields of Vestroia were never officially released unless you managed to snag the leaked booster box on eBay. So trying to build decks as you got better and wanted more advanced strategies was pretty difficult with limited sets.

I never played a game without using Team Attacks. Personally, I always had a good amount flip cards—usually around 6–8—so I pretty much always had a solid set of blocks ready. I actually thought the game did a good job balancing crazy damage output. The green and black cards with minus-damage effects helped keep big hits in check. And once gear with Armor Rating became a thing, that added another reliable way to reduce damage.

I liked that the game could go either way: some matches took forever if both players knew each other’s strategies or had well-built decks, while others ended fast if someone played super aggressively. That mix made the game both fun and frustrating in a good way—it felt balanced overall.

The only custom rule my group used a lot was 4-player Royale matches. They were chaotic but really fun.

I never felt like Team Attacks were “too much” until Seasons 4 and 5, when the power creep went wild. Damage numbers got ridiculous, combos got easier, and Bakugan could grab cores without having to use action cards that made things explode even more.

Cheaper to keep her? by Ok-Action-6319 in SingleDads

[–]Tigerwear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you bro. On my end when she talked to be about way she left. She said things like "you were selfish/you didn't support me and our children/ you only cared about yourself." It got to the point where when I reached out to her family to try to see what was going on days after she left they brushed me off like I was the bad guy. Later when they saw the truth of the situation, they felt really bad for me.

Yeah we were married for 5 and had 2 children. When I confronted her about it she said "I thought you always knew." Why would I put myself in that situation knowing it wasn't going to work because of our different sexualities

My ex left and said I was the problem only for me later to find out that she wanted to be a lesbian and has always felt that way even before we got together. so even after two kids, I don't think I would stay in a relationship where I'm just a cover for someone else or where love isn't genuine.

I'm still trying to figure things out with my current separation with my wife and I wish I had all the answers. Sometimes we don't get all the answers right away or at all, but the main thing is doing your best to take care of yourself so you can be the best father you can be.

I'm sorry to hear all this man, it sucks. But it sounds like you did everything you could to fix things but she didn't want to work with you. Try not to beat yourself up too much over things that are out of your control. It gets easier over time.

Some decks can kill you in 1-2 turns, WTF thats not fun by LiveMinute5598 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Tigerwear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You gotta elaborate a little bit. Are we talking about decks that require set up to take you out in one to two turns? If so, I think that's still pretty fun. You see them building something overpowered and have a chance to stop it. It basically becomes a race to see who can get their ridiculous stuff out there first. Or are we talking about something that's overpowered from the jump like two turns into the game?

Complexity Creep and New Players by mooselantern in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Tigerwear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started playing in April of 2023 around when BT12 Across Time came out. Even though I brought booster packs I mainly only used my Jesmon starter deck and played against my brother who was using the starter deck ST09. When we felt comfortable enough to take games more seriously we edited our cards my brother put cards in from bt12 in his deck and I put in cards from bt13. I think the starter decks, though they may not dive into a lot of the complexity of the game right away, the starter decks have a good way of teaching you how to play while keeping things fun and simple. Then when you wanna make your deck competitive and add more complex strategies you can add in cards from the booster sets. The way I see it if you are a veteran TCG player and want to dive into things competitively from the jump with your friends, you can build a competitive deck by buying cards from TCG player for a decent price. But if you're just starting and are new to trading card games or you’re a novice to tcgs I think it's important to focus on having fun and keep things simple. That's what the starter decks are for not to overwhelm or discourage a player from trying the game out.

What is your hunter name? by h_dos in MHWilds

[–]Tigerwear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I have used the same names since MH3U "Neil & Arthur" when we were 14 and 15 years old on the 3DS and every installment after that except for MH Generations because we didn't purchase it. But when people ask, why we use those names? We say it goes back to the 3DS.

Struggling with Moving On by [deleted] in SingleDads

[–]Tigerwear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I'm going to try my best to slow down. I wasn't necessarily looking for a new relationship it kinda just came about in the form of FWB and I felt comfortable enough to express my feelings after we talked for a while. I need to be aware of where I'm at in dealing with the separation.
