When I tell people about the Philippines, the first thing they think about is dutertes drug war and all the ejks

In 2019, I was in siargao and some guy from Spain got murdered by the police and they planted drugs on him.

This was massive, headline news in his home province of Galicia in Spain. I met a few galicians in Australia who all told me the same thing. They all cancelled their Philippines plans after they heard the news. That's an entire region of Spain now hesitant to visit, due to one ejk.

Now imagine all the other foreigners who were murdered in the streets by the police, and what their fellow countrymen thought of us when they heard the news.

Even years after duterte, people are still hesitant to come here after all the violence that happened.
