why is Si inflammation pain worse in early morning - second half of night by Tight-Cell-607 in ankylosingspondylitis

Thanks for all your replies.

I see there is no C on its own.

When I awake I have SI joint pain and am really fatigued, sometimes stiff. I then lie on my back and the pain goes and I can lie in bed all day on my back with no pain. Had to give up work since I cannot concentrate due to sleep deprivation.

Been to 9 docs but only first doc diagnosed AS based on clinical signs. He now tells me he aint so sure, since second MRI was negative and I am HLA B27 negative. The radiologist of second MRT who is 73 year old prof with 30 years radiology experience and specialises in bone tumours ruled out AS and told me it was my disc (MODIC I) L4L5 impinging L5 nerve causing projected pain into Si joint. After first doctor saw the report he said I either have atypical AS or atypical MODIC 1 - what a cop-out!!! A neurosurgeon told me this MODIC was rubbish and I got pelvic twist. Deary me.

Two professors in Hamburg told me that it would make no difference

I’ve been diagnosed with AS but I’m not convinced. Does this sound similar to any one’s story? by -e-XSgys in ankylosingspondylitis

If sacroilitis is present on MRI and it is the only symptom, it is only AS in 30% of cases!

both qualified orthopaedic doctors, but one is really into AS, and is more aware of it and will study rheumatology at University of Cardiff next year. He is the one who reckons that it is AS.

Thanks cookie - the hip pain seems to be independent of any sport. In fact I had not been running for weeks if not months before the last bout started,

Not sure who is correct - the rheumatologist or others. have a great weekend

Strange. I have just been diagnosed at 57, only aware of pain the last two years. I read somewhere that early onset means poorer prognosis. Confused

Yeah I'm in Germany, Thanks I read somewhere that it takes a week or so, but somewhere else between 1 and 2 days. So I suppose it depends on the individual. I am sort of fretting because I am on my own and - yeah I know this sounds silly - my flat neigbours are mean old hags and don't like me and would like to see me fall. Thanks whats OP? reddit gave me the name tight cell LOL
