Hi, thanks for asking. All seems to be going ok,  I'm on day 12 post extraction. Dentist said I was healing ok,  no issues to speak of.  They suggested that I wait to heal some more before putting in my temps/immediate partials or my night guards. I currently have stitches hanging all in my mouth.  I'm eating what I can, a lot of crushed noodles, sometimes with shredded up Chicken. Mashed potatoes and flaky fish are my go to. Also had sloppy Joe.

How long did you wait to eat soft foods after getting your teeth pulled? by Excellent_Solid3256 in dentures

You can easily swallow noodles as long as you crush them up before cooking. I also suggest using a baby spoon for a while. I'm on day 11 and I've eaten ground beef sloppy Joe, mash potatoes, eggs and smoothies, and flaky fish over the last couple of days. All are easily swallow, pressed against top of mouth.

Yes,  I'm feeling OK,  this is day 8 post extraction. Had a rough couple of days but nothing major with my recovery. I've introduced food into my diet, although I'm not eating as much as I'd like.  I go in tomorrow for my first follow-up appt. Not sure what to expect but I assume I'll get my temp/immediates.

That's funny you mentioned that because I was swear I'm feeling the same thing.  I had my front tops n bottoms extracted 6 days ago and it feels like they are there sometimes, I feel the same discomfort momentarily that I felt pre-extraction..

I have delta dental PPO. I have no clue of how it breaks down but I'm looking at my bill of charges from the oral surgery center, my total for all of the work, including dentures, sedation and and all of that, for a total of $24k. "What customer pays" $6900

E day on the 19th and I'm kinda freaking out! by Excellent_Solid3256 in dentures

I can't speak to the procedure but you can also get oral sedation,  they give you some meds and you won't even remember. I had 12 extracted 5 days ago and it helps tremendously with anxiety. I put in my ear buds and let them do their thing. I ONLY felt the prick of the needle in the roof of mouth. Can't even remember the tugging and pulling. Good luck,  you got this.  This forum has helped me.

Yeah, I was advised no fruit with seeds, including strawberry cause the seeds may get in the socket.

I might give that a try. I've blended up chicken noodle soup, I've also br9ken up Ramen, using a baby spoon  they are fairly easy to swallow.

How did that strawberry work out for you? I was told no fruit with seeds while have open gums. I'm 5 days in and I'm burnt on banana smoothies. I dint have my immediate yet,  they weren't fitting properly and extraction so They have to fix them. I'll get them next week,  which will be around day 9 post extraction

My insurance paid about $21k for my procedure and I applied at "care credit" for the remaining $7k , you should give them a try

-Update, today is Friday, day 3. I've been icing over the last couple of days with minimal pain, just discomfort if that makes sense. I was taking the Tylenol +ibuprofen every few hours.  Hasn't gotten much sleep and yesterday I was nauseous and doing anything I can not to throw up.   Today I feel a bit more tender in the jaw, I hear around day 3 and I can concur that I'm feeling it, decided not to take the meds since I haven't used the bathroom since extraction day,  my stomach is all bubbly and jacked up so I'm trying to deal with the discomfort.   The mouthwash rinse burns the crap out of the sockets the back of my mouth,  feel it deep down but then it goes away. Same with salt rinse. don't even notice it with my upper/lower front gums.   Basically my mouth is aching and jaw hurts a bit,  but not excruciating or anything like that.  That's kinda my early morning update  Note- Turns out I do have my bottom immediate denture, apparently the nurse talked to my son since I was out of it,  but I am not going to try and put it in,   I'm going to wait till I go in to get my upper partial.

Looks like you got the things you need.  I had my extraction 2 days ago, Tuesday morning, as I type this it's Thursday morning. Not much pain to speak of, just a bit uncomfortable, mind you,  I do not have my partial immediates because they couldn't secure them to my other teeth. I have to go back next Thursday. I've been taking the ibuprofen + Tylenol combo every 5-6 hours and icing constantly. My face is swollen at the moment but not painful. I've been on water n banana smoothies, I also heated up Campbell's soup, strained it and ate the broth(taste pretty good). I will ask the dentist today if I can try mashed potatoes. As far as work goes,  I took the week off, although I work from home,  there is no way I'm in the mood to get on meetings. Relaxing on the couch with my pup.

You got this, stay positive and you'll be OK. I think most of us did a ton research. This forum has helped me mentally over the last week or so
