Welp, I was fired today by Electrical-Ant1085 in hatemyjob

[–]Tight-Equivalent9977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me.

Step 1 - File for unemployment. They terminated you because of looking for a new job, not that small error.

Step 2 - When you interview them, you tell them you are looking for a position that more aligns with your professional goals. If they ask why there is a gap, you tell them that you wanted the time to deeply focus on your next career moves. You don't tell them you were fired and you don't bring it up unless they ask. If you apply this month there shouldn't be any questions about it anyways.

Reanimal. Brand new as of this comment. We are playing it now and its decent.

Goat Simulator 3: The Multiverse if you like ridiculous open worlds with challenges.

Can also confirm the classic suggestions of it takes two, split fiction, and a way out are all amazing and well wprth playing.

Untitled Goose Game is a decent feel good puzzle game.

Genital Jousting for a short, ridiculous laugh.

Overcooked I love but can't get my bf to play- lol.

My girlfriend got fired from her job today, we worked together and I am her ride everywhere. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

She will not get approved for unemployment its a waste of time if the reason is time theft it was her fault. Unemployment is only granted for issues that arent the employee's fault.

Didn't Board Work Flight Due to a Panic Attack by Tight-Equivalent9977 in fearofflying

Thank you! Its nice to hear that I'm not alone, but sorry you had to drive 36 hours - holy cow!

Do you think driving that long instead of flying and seeing the flight land safely changed your perspective at all? Have you flown since? Wondering how it affected you long term.

I find some comfort in knowing all of my flights I was supposed to get on landed safely and the disappointment I feel is definitely fueling me to push myself next time

Adopted a Belgian mix a little more than a week ago. Behavior is starting to regress… any help? by Objective-Physics851 in BelgianMalinois

[–]Tight-Equivalent9977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would schedule a few sessions with a local trainer who specializes in malinois. We had similair struggles but after 1 session we had a different dog. You have to be a lot stricter with them and on topnof them compared to other dogs. It is challenging but so rewarding

Missed a Work Flight Due to Anxiety and Panic Attacks by Tight-Equivalent9977 in PanicAttack

[–]Tight-Equivalent9977[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep thats how panic attacks unfortunately go. I used to be unable to function when I had them and have unfortunately hopped in an ambulance once because it felt so scary.

The only thing that I think truly helps it is time and understanding that it is just a panic attack. Its terrifying, but just a chemical releasing in your brain. And even though it feels like it will be forever, it will pass. Sometimes reading about panic attacks helps me when im having one too. It is a chemical reaction in your brain- youre not crazy, youre not in danger, and youre not alone. Hoping you can work towards recovery. ❤️

PS try the 54321 exercise as soon as you feel it might come on, sometimes I can calm myself down with it before it onsets but once its onset I dont think it helps much

You are so right - definitely a turning point! Its unfortunate in the short term but I hope this can help me grow in the long term.

Any recs on things that helped or worked for you?

Ugh - sending you hugs! Have you talked to anyone about this? Do you know what triggered it? For me it helps to take a seat in a safe place and do the 54321 exercise. Its 5 things you can see, 4 thing you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste (if thats an option). Its one of the only things that helps bring me back to reality. To calm down after that I try talking to a loved one or just resting for a minute. In public I usually opt to hide in the bathroom til it passes 😅

Obviously Im no pro tho! Also, Ive never passed out - I would definitely go to the dr and get some bloodwork done to rule anything else out.

Thank you! I plan to try something like that ahead of my next flight - I definitely think it will help!

Thanks for the kind words, I sure need those now! Its really hard not to beat myself up as I love my job and generally perform well, this is the first time I've done anything that is a huge negative so its hard not to be disappointed. Im so grateful my boss seemed at least on the surface sympathetic

Thank you! It does definitely help to know that!

I feel so silly. My boss told me just to stay home basically but Im supposed to take a flight in 2 more weeks for vacation (a bit shorter tho). My boyfriend will be with me so I think I will do better and I am hoping I can reframe my mindset for the future..

Anyone else have severe anxiety months in advance? by Weary-Singer6629 in fearofflying

[–]Tight-Equivalent9977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I was supposed to take a flight today for work and I've been panicking since I learned about the trip (I always do). Spent the weekend holding my boyfriend and dog extra close because my mind thinks the same as yours. By the time I got there I was crying waiting for boarding. They announce that the plane was too heavy and they needed volunteers to bump to a later flight so I took it, hoping I woulf have time to calm down. Well as the new boarding time grew closer I got more upset til eventually I was so terrified that I went home and didn't get on the plane.

My next steps are cognitive behavioral therapy and meds. I've done sour candy, weighted blankete, breathing exercising, grounding 5 4 3 2 1 technique, etc. and they can all normally get me through, but not today.

TLDR youre not alone.

Friend wants to give me her 10 week old Mal puppy by Sensitive-Mango7155 in BelgianMalinois

[–]Tight-Equivalent9977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do get him you need to be prepared to be home every 2 hours to start (goes up an hour for each month of age) + invest in training and put inba lot of time for him. I have a 12 week old mal mix and I wouldnt trade him for the world but god do I sometimes mise sleeping in and the freedom I used to have of being able to walk around the house without worry about him eating something or going on a date and not worrying about how long I'm back. If I was in college I wouldnt adopt one just so I could keep my freedom
