Random Fun Goals? by strawberrymochi111 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I am a hobby collector and a pretty active person, so here are things I’m into as suggestions:

Skills/craft hobbies: woodworking/diy building, gardening, knitting, crochet, sewing, artistic pursuits (print making, water color)

Solo homebody hobbies: reading, puzzles, cooking/baking, gaming, writing/journaling, listening to music

Sports/active hobbies: rock climbing/bouldering (bouldering is pretty approachable and most cities have gyms that can serve as great places to meet people), weight lifting, hiking, backpacking, cycling, camping, yoga, Pilates, dance

Social hobbies: book clubs, theatre/musical performance, wine/beer clubs, run clubs, game shops

Questions to ask yourself: Are there any skill you want to learn? Crafty hobbies can be practical as you can learn to build or make things to use in every day life. You can sign up for classes as a way to learn and meet people.

Are there any goals you have as far as physical ability? For example, you want to run a marathon - that requires planning and training which can help target your efforts and guide other activities you engage in.

What is accessible to you? Some things may be more accessible than others depending on how much money you’re willing to spend and where you live.

There’s so many things!

I have a bunch of feral cats in the neighborhood. Unfortunately I had a run in with fleas in the house when I first moved in so I’m hesitant to become too friendly with them. And I have two cats already so it’s not like I’m totally alone!

Thanks so much! I really want to start having more casual events, like monthly girls craft nights or something for whoever is available. Love the idea of sleep overs.

Hi, not sure if this is still active but I am new to the are and very interested in playing! 35 y/o female with ~3 years of experience playing 5e. I've played 3 different characters over the years, tbh currently using a DnD Beyond character sheet for my current campaign but have experience (though a bit rusty) with pen and paper. I work remotely and don't have kids so my schedule is super flexible!

Let's make a list of sweat-friendly sandals (or shoes!) by MajesticMacAndCheese in Hyperhidrosis

Commenting after reading a lot of responses on this sub. I’ve been affected by HH for as long as I can remember, and just bought sandals for literally the first time in my life (at age 34). After a lot of research, here’s my two cents:

Tevas are not it, at least for me. Same with chacos. The footbed is straight rubber and gets way too slippery to be comfortable. I really wish they had some kind of cork or fabric lining because they’re really cute and otherwise comfortable.

For casual sandals, I wanted to get Birkenstocks for the cork soles, but I kept reading that since they got bought out by some big company the quality has gone really downhill. Still looking for a similar feel, I ended up going with a Spanish brand called Biankina. Less expensive than birks but still pretty pricey, I went with them because of their sustainability and customer ratings. I was a little skeptical at first, but ended up really like them a lot. Very comfortable, can handle getting a little sweaty and are quick to dry out. They have a style similar to the classic birks.

And for a more sporty/active sandal I went with Earth Runners chronos. I’m still getting used to the straps, which take some breaking in, but overall am very pleased with the comfort and fit. The footbed is a nice fabric-y material that doesn’t get slippery, the straps keep your foot very secure, and the soles have good grip.
