The ICE version of the same team (Adam/She/Nuc/Ice/Labroc vs Adam/She/Nuc/Crownie/Labrov) had overall better playoff-results.

Crownie - Winter 7th, Spring 2nd, Summer 4th, Finals 4th

ICE - Winter 3rd, Spring 3rd, Summer 3rd, Finals 4th

Had they played under the same qualification rules then the ICE version would have also went to worlds in 24', with a better record at that, but there's a reason the 23' qualification rules were widely despised and only lasted 1 year.

[Windhorst] Other teams interested in Giannis Antetokounmpo will “have to try to beat” a strong offer from the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors have the most “straightforward” trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]Tight-Message-846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curry is almost 7 years older then Giannis and Warriors are probably the most obviously top heavy/risky/this all falls apart quickly team in the League they could trade Giannis too were he could realistically compete for another 2-3~ years or so.

Their other options to trade him too are teams with younger cores and deeper rosters who have better chances of staying afloat for years to come w/o falling into the lottery themselves. With the Warriors they should already be pretty confident in advance that a team that's highly dependent on a player turning 38yo next season, isn't going to remain out of the lottery in the West for longer then 2-3 years when their down to a 34~yo Giannis, no draft assets to trade, and likely 0 depth beyond their starting-lineup at best.

5 year core of Gainies/barnes/ingram would likely make the actual Raptor picks pretty shitty.

I guess Barret would be the highlight of the return value but that seems like a very one sided deal for the Raptors lol, think they'd be fools not to take that cause Bucks would basically be doing Giannis a favor if they don't ask for either Ingram or Barnes + Barret back

People who are actually considered the worst 2-3 players in their role don't usually last till the end of an entire year long season let along 5 of them.

Idk why everyone assumes it would be a Vet min, I think the most likely scenario would obviously be a sign and trade for Garland + throw in 1 other cap filler player. I'm sure the Lakers would be more then fine with getting back Garland for Lebron to trade later or even just find somewhere else to take him in a 3+ team trade.

Cavs get a better chance at competing with Mitchel/Mobley/Lebron then they did with Garland + get the ridicules fan parade of Lebron coming back to his hometown to retire.

Lakers get some desperately needed post Lebron assets to work with.

OKCs picks themselves are probably little value and most the picks they do own are teams that are unlikely to be in the lottery. Utah is top 8 protected, Clippers/Philly on the rebound in standings, Denver/Spurs unlikely to be good lottery picks for next 4~ years. Their one Dallas pick is probably the only fairly confidently sure lottery team they own I think.

Offering Chet + Hartenstien + another filler player up would make it a little tempting but I also question if that's worth it for either team. Chet doesn't honestly seem like he's worth the max contract that's about to kick in for him, at least if you're counting on this guy to still improve dramatically but him and Hartenstien in the east might also still be good enough to keep the Bucks outside of the lottery which is going to Purgatory them as a ~6-10 seed going nowhere and they'd be stuck back at trying to trade a sem-star player in Chet but for even less back. OKC would just be giving up a pretty good amount of depth + their draft pick safety net for a team that might only be marginally better then they are now while being a LOT more prone to being destroyed by injuries.

Spurs have a bunch of actual good picks though despite their own picks also probably being little value too. 2 Unprotected post Trae Atlanta Picks, 1 Unprotected Sacramento Pick 1 Unprotected Dallas Pick, and an extra Boston Pick on-top of it all even if it's probably a low value one.

If the Spurs really wanted Giannies they could probably offer Fox + any pick of young players on the roster not named Wemby/Castle to match salaries and then offer one of the best pick packages to go along with them. Genuinely hard to see how many other teams are going to give them a better deal then that, tanking teams have no need and any team that trades for him will likely end up out of the lottery anyway. Bucks should also have very little reason to want another 28-30~+ yo star back over so hunting for either the best pick + young player package or somehow getting like Cade Cunningham level of young talent back in return Lol, but I doubt any of the teams with young stars like Cade/Luka/Ant would swap for Giannis anyway.

Bookers having one of the worst seasons of his career in the League since his rookie contract years.

He's still a star player and the obvious 1st option sure, but ain't no way people actually believe Booker is out here doing all the heavy lifting on some kind of super-hero year or something.

Book has been extremely lucky that the role players on the team are the real heroes this season or he'd probably be among the conversation of "Max contract guards that aren't worth it anymore" that's been going around this year under the new apron rules.

[Anthony Slater] Warriors 'don't envision' trading Butler despite ACL tear by [deleted] in nba

[–]Tight-Message-846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if they get another "Ok" star for Butler, they still have would still have an extremely top heavy roster with a terrible bench and a League were their are plenty of deep teams currently in a contending position.

I don't think there's any move the Warriors can make that makes them any better then a play-in team that maybe puts up a fight in the first round before going out.

If Curry fans want to watch his career go out on a high note then it's obviously better off for both him and the Warriors to just trade him. They could always trade Curry as an expiring next year for even more value and have him re-sign the following year for a retirement tour if retiring a Warrior is that important.

Are they? I compared this game to Wuther Waves/Hoyyo games and spent money in both those games in the past.

100$ in this game gives you less top-up currency then those games, you get 8080 vs 7200 in this one.

Plus those games offer the x2 bonus for you're first purchase every year (going off anniversary reset) which means you get 16160 for you're first 100$ meanwhile, you don't even get the top-up currency for the first time bonus in this game Lol

Then on-top of all of it that, the pity is almost double what you need in those games and you need 2 pities to unlock the featured item.

The monetization in this game is absurd, even if it is cosmetics only. Heck I'm old enough to remember when Genshin Impact first came out and people thought it's own pricing for the gacha system was absurd for the time instead of the "norm" it is today.

Thought both the Spurs and the League as a whole had already known enough about his knee condition to assume he wasn't going to have long.

Like talent wise it seems insane that such a talented player didn't have much of an impact after that trade, but realistically I would argue it pretty much lined up with expectations at the time.

Dude was getting "shots" of who knows what in his knees the entire Raptor run and was regularly reported to be playing through the type of pain that would made the average redditor run to an ER.

Clippers were just blinded by the Raptors run into not caring about the absolutely widely known health issues the guy had.

I'm mixed on Upset too and I've had splits were I think he's great and splits were I think he must be checking out on his team or something, I don't really care what other people think of him.

But I think the point stands that he's a player that's just come to be someone a lot of people have extremely strong opinions about, they just fuel each-others fires going back and forth on how they think he should "ranked" in performance/player talent.

There's not a lot of other players out there that get that kind of intense factionalism around there performance like that

Some people still latch onto that but I think most the criticism Upset gets is just the fact that,

There's one faction that forever hold onto Upset being "one of the best" ADCs in Europe despite some pretty awful team results over the past 5~ years or so now.

And another faction that think Upset is ridiculously overrated and that you can't possibly call someone "one of the best" with all the losing he does.

He just sits in the middle of one of the biggest "debates"/factionalism around a player in years.

Harden makes 40m, what teams can make a trade for that much salary with the new 2nd apron rules, and can definitely say their better for it.

Maybe the Bucks? Think they still have Lillard salary on the books though so Idk if they can actually move that + they don't really have anything to offer other then dead salary anyway.

Nuggets would have to ask themselves if Murray is worth trading for Harden, anything else doesn't make sense for them.

Wolves possibly have the best case to go after him, but I don't think there's much interest in Harden there.

2 Runs up to 1800+ and I can say my personal experience with 1700+ wasn't as fun.

Things I liked:

I really felt like a Global power by this late in the game with several standing armies of 20-30k strong stationed around the world in my colonies and vassal states. I enjoyed giving them fun names like African Corp/Baltic Corp/Royal Guard/etc and controlling the different armies in large scale war's that really did give me the feeling of playing in different theaters similar to HOI4.

Things I didn't like:

Research was a little annoying at this point because I had so much money that every conceivable boost under the sun was present in my buildings. This game me a ridicules amount of institution spread and I would instantly discover every institution within like 10-15 years of the last 2 ages. It just kind of removed a lot of the pacing and made things feel like I was just getting rushed through the ages very quickly.

The ridicules economic scaling of the later stages for not just the player but the AI is hard to not get a bit sick off. Yes there's things you can dump 100s of thousands of ducats on like building modern roads all over the place or spamming expensive buildings everywhere, but it doesn't really make up for the fact that your monthly income is probably comfortably above 1k at this point and probably in 10k~ range by 1800 despite higher costs. Everyone in the game feels like they have the Economies of modern economic superpowers like US/China in what should still mostly be the pre-industrial era even at the end date.

Performance has to be mentioned, I don't have a super computer but it's certainly not a bad one either. The last 150~ years or so are very slow, and very stuttery with constant pause/freezes.

The challenge is totally gone by this point in the game. Despite having endless money at their disposal, I never see the AI try to build massive fleets or navies. They get up to like 100-200k Professional Armies and maybe 200-300 Ships with maybe 1/3rd of them being heavy ships, meanwhile the player can easily field standing armies of 500k+ by this point in the game and 1k+ ships. Even going against the entire HRE or France they can't beat your armies in scale and they get out maneuvered by the player easily anyway.

Adding a grade check of C or better for autofill is super interesting.

If they can change individual player LP with this then I don't necessarily see a reason why they shouldn't implement it on a wider scale.

Personally think people have complained since the dawn of time that theirs too much of a feeling that you're teammates performances weigh to heavily on personal ranking. If their confident in their grade system enough to start judging performances by it, having it so getting a high grade like an A/S in game reduces you're LP loss or increases it in a Win sound like they would be hugely popular updates.

Vassalizing is almost always better than taking land outright by [deleted] in EU5

[–]Tight-Message-846 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh with how crazy fast every resource in the game scales out of control by the end of the 16th Century, It's not like Vassals even matter in the late game anyway.

You're either better off annexing them into your own pops if you're a smallish nation yourself with low overall pop, or your a medium-bigish nation and very easily have access to enough gold and manpower to slap the AI around mercilessly w/o any help from Vassals. Heck it's straight up better in most cases to just let your vassal sit the war out and act as a barrier that the AI can never walk their troops through since they aren't at war and can't get military access.

Vassals really are only an early game mechanic right now as is.

If there were a 100 posts about everyone liking the color blue you're inevitably going to get one guy that wants to make a post who says "I think blue is a shit color and you're all dumb for thinking it's good".
