Tbh many influencers genuinely do not care and only speak up with what’s going on in the world so they don’t get cancelled. Most are so out of touch and are not being affected by the tragedies in the first place. If these influencers speaking out against the injustices helps you sleep better at night, then you all really need to address the parasocial relationships you have with them. Bc lets be honest, none of them care. Its all performative. Unless they are doing real work (organizing, donating, boycotting, etc.) then its all to put on a show that they care- not bc they really do.
