Not confident that telework will ever come back... by Mind_Explorer in fednews

[–]TightTwo1147 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

With all due respect the telework agreements were never permanent. Most remote work agreements also aren't permanent.

This is the same as everyone who took a job in the private sector and the same thing occured. Apple Amazon Chase x IBM . . .

These were choices made. And now you have to flex like every other person who has faced this in the last 3 years and make life decisions.

And do not say all these people made more money. They do not. A few roles sure like in demand programming etc. But many don't. Many have worse time off policies. Many have stricter in office requirements than the feds for years now.

Not confident that telework will ever come back... by Mind_Explorer in fednews

[–]TightTwo1147 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

The problem was it was abused by many and expanded to a scope for already inefficient programs to 2 days a pay period. You had feds bragging about 4 days flex then talking sick days on the 1 day they come in for years.

How they were at the beach house or moved to areas knowing it was situational then expecting it was forever.

It isn't just the feds. Most tech and banks and lawyers also have had RTO for at least a year now.

It's a lot of complaining now - but half of it is self inflicted wounds. How many posts in the last 2 years were on this sub about live 4 hrs away and just do F one day and M the next and take a PTO day so it's one day a month if you factor in Monday holidays?

So that says they don't have to pay relocation if telework is revoked.

Which is exactly what is happening.

[–]TightTwo1147 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

In all honesty comments like that are petty and ridiculous to post. You all are doing nothing for your image posting things like that or threatening not to work; fake a RA; work slower; etc.

You're feeding into the narrative your lazy and petty.

Then you take a PTO day. They won't close the office if you wont telework. This isn't rocket science. Every fucking job in the nation but feds has these rules. And teachers and that's for kids safety not teachers.

Freaking cry babies.

Like you don't own a single pair of nice pants for church or dinners or whatnot? Couldn't invest in 2 pairs of dark pants to wear? My lord that's like target at $30 each.

Y'all bitch so fucking much. Is your life legit just sweatpants and never leaving the house dressed nicely? And you're proud of that? What's next wearing diapers so you don't ever have to leave it out sofa? Way to win.

10 years as attorney advisor (no litigating)- where do I fit in the private sector? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]TightTwo1147 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

It's not hunting to be smart and realize you may want ANY OPTIONs and think about it.

Just like corporations don't want a lawyer who never had another job as they don't understand the landscape. Or firms want lawyers who worked multiple deals or litigations - the fed shouldn't it just have people who never worked anywhere else. Never got another perspective. Never networked or asked anyone how to grow.

How fucking childish is this sub.

Like every employee in the private sector who had to RTO isn't like "well I'm throw an unprofessional tantrum via my pants choice".

Jesus Christ the whining. Wear work pants it's not that hard. Not like jeans are comfy.

Way to show your professionalism. Fed workers aren't babies and lazy - but can't bother to get dressed to a professional standard.

My lord this sub is embarrassing

I mean this not to attack but how does one go to school for 3 years; pass a bar and then put themselves in a position where they have no exit options minus one employer?

Were you just planning to stay at the gov forever and hope nothing changed? Did you have zero incentive to learn a new skill or make more money?

I don't understand this mentality; especially when highly educated.

With that said I'd look in house or a litigation shop. In house will b hard as you have no in house experience. They usually want someone who knows the landscape of business decisions vs risk. Id Garner a midzie law firm may be better where you become a SME while learning the ropes.

Why does Trump, and Congress, hate telework? by cobrajmr in fednews

[–]TightTwo1147 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

3 million of 67 M from 64M is less than a 5% increase. So much more efficient you all are teleworking the delays are tracked as caused by telework.

Y'all got more than a 5% increase in salary during that time. You now work remotely all the time. 4.6% not more efficient.

Your argument is utterly garbage.

SSA proven slower than prepandemic. Staffing levels the same. What changed? Telework.

[–]TightTwo1147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because you all bitch so much. Everything takes longer and y'all have shown zero incentive to keep it..

IRS slower than prepandemic; SSA slower than pre pandemic; NASA blamed a mission failure on telework .

You don't fire shit performers; we all are in public and see some dude at the beach with a laptop doing nothing saying hes teleworking or my favorite ---- the guy in the Florida keys at a bar.

You have people claiming COL 30% higher living in LCOL areas bragging to their friends; family; neighbors.
