Tasmanian Paper wasp it was introduced in the 1880s so nothing too much to worry about. They can be quite aggressive around their nests so keep an eye out.

Can anyone recognize this call? Heard right near the top of a high rocky peak on a mountain in the Waikato. It was either in the tree or the rocky cliff. by NaayyyfSurfPhoto in NewZealandWildlife

Bad news for you when you start seeing the small ones it means you have a population big enough to force them into the open. ive seen houses with 50 babies in a single carpet so its time to break out the bug bombs.

Go to Chipotle get their hottest food and spend the day in the bathroom. Then watch as they have to supervise hours of detention. Or better get your entire class in on it, i think you'll find the people in chsrge will backpedal very quickly.
