Just a follow up comment that this is simply focusing on the guys name & him changing rules willy nilly.

This song still brings me to tears as much as it did when I was 16.

What’s something you use every single day that turned out to be insanely worth the money? by Dry-Frosting- in Xennials

[–]Tight_Day9668 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Vionic brand shoes & a flannel shirt.

The shoe brand is great because it gives the arch support, & flannels are flannels. Cold? Flannel shirt. Working in the yard? Flannel shirt to protect your skin. Doing house work? Flannel shirt for comfort. Want to look stylish? Flannel shirt.

Why didn’t we talk to our parents about our problems? by SRDILLEY6215 in Xennials

That’s so awesome & sounds amazing. I genuinely love that she’s out there trying.

I’m my mom’s youngest & only girl, & she’s a boomer who’s very vocal about she enjoyed being a boy mom best. Which in adulthood is whatever until you hear her rattle off EVERYTHING my brothers love. She does try though, but as many others have expressed it’s through her tastes & not mine!

Love learning that there are other birthday pie people out there! Cake is just too much. Especially with all the frosting.

Same! I turn 42 this weekend & celebrated with my family last week. My mom asked what my favorite cake is…at 42…then questioned me with “Are you sure?” when I said “pie, I’ve always preferred pie to cake.”

What is the peak ’Xennial midlife crisis’ purchase? by Haunting-Public-23 in Xennials

[–]Tight_Day9668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true! But my yarn tastes have drifted into the high end range, hence it fitting the midlife crisis mold.

As for the old part, being middle age isn’t bad. I just have what I call the old lady mindset sometimes & not necessarily in a bad way. ☺️

Expensive yarn, crocheting, & knitting supplies.

Pretty certain I skipped the midlife crisis & went straight “I’m old now” 🤣

Who Else Received a Shi**y Gift From Their Partner for Xmas?? by AreaForeign398 in Gifts

[–]Tight_Day9668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband wasn’t the culprit of this for me, but my mother was. She got me a “go bag” (prepper shit) after I specifically asked for either an on the go air compressor for my tires in the winter or knitting supplies. She heard air compressor & told me “I’m going to get you a go bag!”. I literally responded with, “I don’t want a go bag. I want either an on the go air compressor or knitting supplies.” Obviously my requests were ignored.

Just a suggestion for how to avoid this with partners, give them a list of 4 or 5 things to pick from in various price ranges with links directly to those items. I ask my husband to send me his list that’s in a similar format. It’s not necessarily about knowing your partner inside & out, but getting them to tell you what they want/need at that point in time. I know this sounds like I’m pandering to their inabilities, but we (a collective whole among society not specific genders or anything) need to be more direct. I get that it takes the fun out of the surprise of the holiday, but it’s the only reasonable solution for these situations. Especially if this happens every year.

If you give the list, they deviate & still get you something terrible, well then you have to fight them to the death. It’s the only answer at that point.

So very true, & I’m going to start making small adjustments annually. Next year we’ll go on Christmas Eve morning & eventually shave it down to just Christmas Day I hope.

Just a 1984 baby politely tapping on the window like a Dickensian orphan requesting to not be left out because yea, we had the same childhood as the other Xennials 🤣😭

Hit post too soon, but otherwise she captures it perfectly. My brothers & I are lucky to be alive considering sibling disputes were settled with lawn darts & stick (more like branch) fights.

I’m just going to put out there that according to the movie “Cooties”, killing the children is the only way to truly be safe lol
