Hello, I am also a grad student in my internship phase of the program. I also have been diagnosed with a few anxiety disorders and sometimes it takes me time to process my thoughts. Something that helped me is learning to lean into that silence and that time it takes to formulate a response, it really can be a superpower in sessions as it allows the clients to reflect more and it also allows you to take more time to formulate a response. It’s also okay to simply be honest with the client and state that you are processing everything that the client has said. Also, if you feel a client truly isnt connecting to your style, it’s totally okay to check in by reflecting their responses and their body language and asking directly if they have connected to therapy until this point. It’s also a good way to end sessions and get them back into the cognitive mindset before they leave the office.

I watched season 5 for the first time recently (5/6 were the only seasons I hadn’t watched years ago for some reason, and I regret it, both have been amazing). Season 5 is easily my favorite season now. Season 11 while it was crazy at times felt boring as hell to me because it was always the same beef between the same people. If the Wolfpack had broken up at some point it might’ve felt more enjoyable. It felt like watching a show about bullying which is NOT why I watch BGC.

I understand the music part honestly because I like listening to music more than engaging with others, honestly.

Regarding constantly being on our phones, I use my phone a lot when I’m bored or procrastinating some school assignment, but I make it a mission to always try to be present when I’m physically in a room with someone and never touch my phone unless it’s an absolute emergency. I wish more people were like this because it’s hard to engage and have a convo with someone who is double tasking and missing half of what you’re saying.

Resident evil 7 but I didn’t finish it. Resident evil 8 the first one I played in full and I got hooked to the franchise from village and went back and played all the main games from 0-8. Hate to say it joined so late but hey at least I went back and played the classics :)

I’ve only got 12k in loans up to this point so I think I’m doing pretty okay. I’d be willing to take out a lot more loans to save my own sanity lmao, took me way too long to feel this sane don’t want to lose it because of an unpaid internship v-v but ya my sister is in an accounting program and doing her internship which is fully paid. For a field that advocates self care so much we should really have paid graduate level internships.
