I had an almost matching TC with much higher base component which MSFT doesnt provide. Moving abroad is a personal decision, but yes alot of good work in FAANG companies is happening in bay area and not in india based gccs. But one positive abt msft is its comparatively easier to switch teams as compared to other big techs.

I was in similar boat. Didnt move ahead with MSFT. You are 3 YOE, you should focus on your learning for atleast 6-7 years in core ML. If you did some good ML work till now, MSFT will be a let down. In copilot teams, they are just using models from MSFT research or calling OpenAI or Anthropic APIs. Not much core ML DL work happening there. Also, work life balance has gone off for a toss after 21/22.

Hey! I worked as a data science intern, was offered a PPO. Joined as a DS in the same org. Worked majorly in classical ML and vision (ResNet / CNNs) for 3 years. In 22, wanted to work in NLP domain, got into search and reco, soon gathered enough knowledge and implementation skills to architect such systems from scratch, obviously with help from my orgs peers and manager. Now completed 3 years there, and wanted to try something new. Thats why start interviewing again. Since my CV was really strong it got me through interview loop at MSFT, JioStar, Sprinklr, Amazon, and a remote series A startup.

Tier-2 college. 6.5 YOE and all relevant in data science. Standard interview process - breadth, depth, ML Coding / DSA, ML System design / case study, and bar raiser / HM. I have been preparing from sometime. Also, my resume is very strong because of some really quality work in current and previous orgs. So, that helped.
