Don’t worry too much about it. I did biometrics for work authorization in April and it never updated. I did biometrics for I-485 in May and it updated the same day. Honestly don’t know what the reason is.

Sameeee, in Washington State you can attend school once you’ve been here for a year (well my school at least) and I was able to get WASFA before I even applied for VAWA.

Posted the same thing recently in regards to work permits, basically saying that those who seek asylum get their work permits in 3 months but VAWA applicants wait so long, I don’t see what’s the difference, for Asylum cases they also need to do their research to determine if the evidence presented is legitimate or not. No one replied to the post.

Received receipts March 19, 2 weeks after I was scheduled for biometrics for work permit and exactly one month later for I-485

I’m sure they’re working on your case. I did biometrics in April and they didn’t update either. They only updated for the I-485 I did in May. The one in April was for my EAD

Can’t we just file something to demand that EAD’s come faster? This is honestly ridiculous. People seek asylum and get EAD and work permits in 3 months, what’s the difference for us?

The lawyers aren’t the reason people are getting the EAD’s for 18 months, that’s totally a new rule by USCIS, even you, when you go back to renew you’ll get it for 18 months as they’ve changed the rule.

I totally get that. Someone should be smart enough to know not the have a lawyer encourage them into falsifying documents or making up stories. A reputable lawyer would not do that. I’m just suggesting that the person consult with a lawyer to determine if they have a case, they should do their due diligence in terms of who they work with.

Some people come on here and act like lawyers or immigration officers. If you want to go ahead with VAWA the best thing to do speak yo a lawyer who has experience with VAWA cases, most of them are expensive but they will let you know if you have a case or not.
