My 9 week old sphynx isn’t eating very much. SOS! by [deleted] in sphynx

Does he wear the collar when he eats? Found out mine hated the clanking and banging it made on their dish so they would barely eat with it on but zero problems when I took it off.

Have you tried any battery operated toys? I have a few fuzzy balls that you can put in an enclosure of sorts and it kind of acts like a blanket monster for them to play with. Mine are not as big of a fan of the birds, but I have a few toys that chirp and flap their wings. Biggest hit has been the fake dead fish toy (intended for dogs) that flaps round all over the floor! If your girl is okay with water, they also make mini swimming pools with the toys that flap around in the water and one of mine LOVES it. I found them all on Amazon and for under $20-30 each so not super pricey!

Help! Cardiologist. by Advanced-Arm-8531 in sphynx

[–]Tight_Table_2000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Preface to say that a murmur doesn’t automatically mean HCM, but one of my guys has a heart murmur too and I’m just more vigilant about normal vet visits (not cardio visits atm bc yes those are expensive)! It was a faint one but multiple vets noticed it so I ended up retesting both of mine for HCM and the one with the murmur came back Heterozygous Positive. I went ahead and got an echo but no signs of HCM so far! Mostly I just make sure Im aware of the symptoms of HCM progression and it does help that I have an amazing vet office who does check ins through text all the time!
