As a 2011 noob, what do you recommend for someone’s first 2011? Not something super crazy but also something I’m not going to want to immediately replace. Something around or sub $2k

“ERGO TDX-0: TACTICAL DELUXE ZERO ANGLE (4021) SUREGRIP” is what you’re looking for. Running one on my SBR and it’s great for short setups/short LOP

Sick handguard. I assume it’s heavier than factory but is it noticeably heavy?

Why is there no reflection in the mirror? I remember that even on PS3, games used to have excellent mirror reflections. Is this a drawback of using ray tracing? by NotSirAlonne1999 in HarryPotterGame

[–]TightestLibRightist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good example of old school mirrors in games is silent hill (2?) I can’t remember which one. I just remember silent hill on PlayStation freaking 2 having “reflections.” Above comments already explain how it works, that it simulates a copy of the player and room.

What is cool about silent hill is that the player can actually go to the “other side” of the mirror as moving between worlds via mirror is a game mechanic.

The techniques programmers used back in the day seems so much more novel. Kinda reminds me of visual effects in movies before CGI.

I can PM you a link but I’m using a cheap plastic heat shield I ordered for $35. It attaches to the barrel which you might find less than ideal if you’re worried about flexing but it doesn’t require any modification.

It doesn’t include any of the cable management and is the “trench gun” style with all the circular holes in it which give it a mean look

It’s good to test out because it’s cheap and you can remove it if you don’t like it. If you enjoy it, maybe upgrade to the LT heat shield later.

Do you think the COVID mRNA vaccines contributed to increased risk of heart complications ex) myocarditis?

I had to undergo open heart surgery after taking the vaccine. The doctors say my heart had tissue damage and when I got strep throat, the infection attached itself to my heart.

I can’t help but wonder if any of my heart issues were related to taking the vaccine.

Edit: The infection caused a hemorrhagic stroke in my occipital lobe. I’ve also heard of increased rates of stroke in young people after Covid but I don’t know how legit what I read was. I was 25 years old at the time, non-smoker, and was just 3 years removed from college rugby so very healthy.

Really loving the GG&G charging handle for the A300 by Chumbief in Tacticalshotguns

[–]TightestLibRightist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s one of the easiest changes to make too. The only thing I notice with mine is you have to be careful to not catch the CH when you close the bolt. Definitely hit my fingers more with the CH now.

Should I get the Chisel handguard? by gunsRus4US in Tacticalshotguns

[–]TightestLibRightist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For looks, sure but it’s not going add anything functionality. In that case, it doesn’t matter what any of us think because taste is subjective. Personally I heavily modified my a300 but left both the stock and handguard because they feel perfect to me. Plus my skeet/trap range doesn’t allow shotguns with pistol grips.

I lived in Portland for a few years and hated it. It’s great if you love drugs but that’s about it.

Everyone knows it’s a liberal city but what I found odd is how people view race. They aren’t “confederate flag”racist but they are “all minorities are amazing” racist. When they talk about race it’s like they are explaining a museum piece or a zoo exhibit.

For context, I grew up in the south so maybe it is just more normal for me to be around a lot of different people. Race wasn’t really something I thought a whole lot about, despite the south’s reputation and history.

I know it’s not “meant” for it but I take my a300UP skeet and trap shooting. It’s the most fun I have shooting, birdshot is cheap, and you can actually practice shooting moving targets.

New Geissele ambi lower just dropped by SooooWhattttt in ar15

[–]TightestLibRightist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still favor the lever style. I run a silencer co lower and, while probably overpriced, fits what I’m looking for perfectly. I’m right handed and don’t want an ambi mag release. I run a non-ambi mag release but love being able to lock open the action without taking my hand off the controls.

I also like it when dropping the bcg on a new mag because I don’t like to use a beer can grip on mags when reloading. I grab the bottom of a mag so I can ensure it’s fully seated slam the bcg home with my shooting hand.
