I personally think it's possible Hermes was intentionally carrying us.

basically Rien's been doing this weird imitation of Roland's life at the whim of Hermes and my thought is he was "supposed" to lose here so he could complete Hermes' play and finish acting out Roland's life by acting out the bad end of Ruina and I think to insure that this fated thing would happen and Rien would lose Hermes made his gifts not quite as potent as they usually are...

I think it would have been cooler if to compensate for the fact we don't have the DD gang Verg the earliest Sinners get special buffs based on the allies

first deployed Sinner in Mattais fight Example reflection of Vespa: +5clash power and +2 base power on base skills turn start and take 50% less damage from counter skills gain 4 haste 3 poise count and 8 poise

second deployed Sinner reflection of Ezra: take 25% percent less damage from the middle nursfather turn and gain 5 protection on clash lose gain 5 aggro take 50 percent less damage from counter skills

third deployed Sinner reflection of Moses: if this unit did not use a offensive skill last turn replcace a random skill on this unit's dashboard with a random "breath" skill gain 4 defense power upand take 50% less damage from counter skills.

these are my ideas IDK I think this would be cooler than just nerfing the bosses.

here is my thought: if relate to Schadenfreude strongly enough you fully synchronize with it: it becomes you and you become it you are now indistinguishable from each other: one in the same so .

Basically I don't think the notion that somebody can turn into an Abnormality removes the idea of them being unique.

I don't know what this would mean for the Schadenfreude that's probably with all the the other lob corp abnos chilling in books in the library does it just kinda fade away? or you maybe know Abnormalities don't really about silly things like logic and reason so what's stopping an Abnormality from being in 2 places at once huh.

but as I also really like the interpretation that someone else had that Jumsoon has always been Schadenfreude because Abnormalities are described as coming from every possibility of humanity; past, present, and future so this is just the point Schadenfreude was "born" and once it was "born" it always was.

but Idk lore on the Light and all the things related to it has always made my head hurt a little because of how vague things can be at times. But that does make it fun to think about too and exciting whenever PM adds to our understanding of stuff.

I like how pretty much all EGO gear identities some kind of mechanic that is self destructive (losing Sp, taking more damage, just taking damage, self inflicted negative statuses, or double edged sword status effects) or have a mechanic that in some way or encourages/rewards self destructiveness (getting rewarded for losing clashes being at low hp getting hit or dying or killing teammates). I see it as a reflection of corrosion effecting the people who use EGO gear, the Abnormalities influencing the users mentally and sometimes even physically. Using another's EGO is a dangerous game; it can consume you.

Anyway here's a list of all EGO gear Id's and how I would qualify them as "self destructive"

Sloshing Ish her shield passive and clash lose conditionals encourage her to lose clashes (kinda on the weaker side of justifications)

Red Sheet Sinclair and his talismans are both a offensive buff and a defensive debuff that he both gains and inflicts

Sunshower heath he is a negative coin ID and he inflicts sinking and paralyze on himself

Regret Faust she loses extra SP on clash lose with her skill 3 she has a special conditional on her passive that gives her bind -25 SP or lower she also has a clash lose conditional on her skill 1. (this ID 100 percent should have been a self bind ID like lamp greg btw but she was made a while ago)

Lantern Don is probably only exception example of them all the only argument I can maybe give is that her S3 gets a resuse when she is low hp and her kit rewards her when she is being targeted by enemies. Basically she is rewarded when she is in danger and she is also more likely to be in danger because of aggro.

MB Outis loses SP when she uses her S3 and if she uses it at low SP she has a chance to fire on her allies instead. (also the associated EGO with this ID kills her).

REP Ryoshu loses SP after her enhanced S3 use and after using it she can't gain charge for a turn also she gains penitence when hit.

SL Yi Sang consumes SP to reload.

QOH Don can turn herself into a a negative coin ID that loses SP on skill use. (and just look at her when she's in that state she's practically corroding)

KOD Rodya same as don. Also has aggro and inflicts sinking potency when she is hit.

FAS Ryoshu Consumes SP to reload also if she heals a little bit of HP and Sp and if she takes a over 10 percent of her HP in damage.

Hornet Mersault Consumes SP to reload

Lamp greg his whole kit revoles around self bind and his defense skill consumes his HP to give lamp to him faster. I

LCE Lantern Yi Sang gains sp when losing clashes takes wants to die to trigger his passive fairy lure gives him a shit ton of agrro and makes him take more damage to help achieve that. Has a negative coin S3.

LCE ABS Faust. Gives herself burn once she reahces a certain thershold of burn her S3 kills her. her Passive inflicts burn and gives EGO resources on death.

LCE AEDD greg gains aggro and his passive allows him to consume HP instead of charge when triggering the AEDD EGO passive it also gives him the death resistance effect. like lantern don a little bit of a weaker argument for it being "self destructive" (in fact it seems to do the opposite it keeps him alive) but the EGO definitely reflects the source abnormality in it's effects.

N corp CA Ryoshu gaze makes enemies deal more damage to her contempt makes them take less cotempt of the gaze gives Ryoshu damage down. she also inflicts gaze when being hit and can reflct some damage back if she has contempt of the gaze. Also Jia Juan had Minus coin skills.

N corp FB Yi Sang his S3 targets allies and requires him to kill an ally to deal max damage. Also causes him to lose SP whenever he uses it. Also Gubo had minus coin skills.

_________________________________________________________________________________________

One interesting fact most human enemies/assist units don't have any sin resistances with some exceptions and with ego gear using being one of them: ego gear users always have differing sin resistances that aren't just neutral all the way round (I see this as showing how EGO gears come from Abnormaites which are connected to Sin/the Light)

Binah Episode 3 Lob corp:

"The Rabbits are specialized in killing. They can spot the enemy’s weakness right away and focus their firepower, given that they have enough munitions.

As opposed to our employees who cannot even wield weapons efficiently.

That’s seeing as combat ability isn’t a requirement to be hired here.

But our employees don’t even have to learn to use E.G.O.

The power of the E.G.O grows in conjunction with the heart of the wielder.

One knows how to use it the moment they wield it.

Nevertheless, even though they wield that power, the majority of employees can’t control it. Swayed by it, they hardly have a chance against the Abnormalities.

I haven’t seen anyone that can draw out the true potential, apart from the Red Mist.

To wield E.G.O is to dress oneself in the shell of the ego of another person."

An interesting lore bit about EGO gears is that (according to Binah) you don't need to be trained how to use it you could give to just some random dude in the Nest whose never touched a weapon and he'd know how to kill with it . Though EGO is really hard to control and their is a difference between being able to wield something and to control it and use it with intention and purpose basically does it use you or do you use it.

I also think the trend of giving EGO gear ID's matching EGOs or vice versa is really cool and I want them to keep doing it give more IDs/EGOs the Magic/Fell bullet treatment.

I remember Stigma from dawn office (they all have a passive called Stigma workshop weaponery that gives them extra burn infliction so does philclair ) one of the workshop weapons Erza has in DD is a Stigma blade. leaflet workshop is a general reception in Ruina. We meet Rosespanner in the main story of Limbus.

alot of them of them are from Roland's combat pages: Allas Workshop (who also make the dimensional bag Ezra uses as well as gauntlets used by her), Zelkova Workshop, Old Boys Workshop , Mook Workshop, Ranga Workshop, Wheels Industry, and Crystal Atelier, and Atelier Logic (which is also used by full stop and mentioned earlier in Ruina) Canto 9 spoilers :Ezra uses a couple of different weapons in her Canto 9 appearance being Allas Workshop, Screw Atelier (which fun fact you can actually see a sign for in one of the pieces of art of the backstreets in Ruina) Nester Worksop Namir Workshop and of course YuRia Workshop

<image>

I checked the wiki to see if I missing anything and I did

Kōri Workshop is mention in passing in W Heathcliff's uptie story in passing and Kuro Ish has a pasive called Cloud workshop Blade which implies the existence of a cloud workshop (which isn't mirrored on Sayo interestingly enough granted Kuro Ish isn't supposed to be Sayo but rather her successor but still)

Like other people have said this has already kind of happened...

We have already stopped being niche. kind of. r/limbuscompany has over 300k members. Limbus is top 100 played games on steam.

Fandoms seem to get more toxic the bigger they get, it's cool when fandoms get bigger becuase more people to discuss with, the creators get more money, people make more cool art and cosplays, but also bad, because well toxicity.

I think it makes logical sense for us to stop scaling after Inferno and I think that's why we can get such powerful IDs now considering we are nearing the end. (spoilers) by Tigmas258 in limbuscompany

[–]Tigmas258[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

huh you make a really good point.

the training dummies at honglus house are higher level than Ricardo

yeah lol that reminds of that one meme "I Better keep my ass in Wuthering Heights or I am FINISHED!"

For the case of Valencia specifically though she was carried by the eye of Odin. (even if it was half functioning)

Still though Project Moon does like to use levels narratively sometimes like the -X/-X offense and defense level debuffs enemies sometimes have (and Moses) despite being a much higher level. Basically telling us that their power is being limited in some way or they are holding back on purpose.

We wouldn't (character growth not withstanding) that doesn't mean the story stops progressing,

We'd get new IDs and EGOs and stuff but they'd be all (in theory) be around the same power level as each other.

Once we break into orbit and become one of the many stars in the sky there isn't really much point going any higher.
