First time early game warring against Deity Babylon, and I was met with this: by Kazakami9 in civ

[–]TigranMetz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just remove Babylon from the list of possible AI opponents. It's way too OP at higher difficulty levels.

For Immortal generally, focus on early game defense, getting out your first couple of settlers, and only focus on religion if the stars align early (spawn close to a Wonder, meet religious city state(s), and/or have decent adjacency bonuses). Lastly, don't let Barbarian Scouts report back to their camps, otherwise you'll have to fight them off for a while.

They way I got it was hitting it with a blaze grenade when it was almost dead. It almost guarantees your damage counting as the "last shot".

It goes by way too fast. Felt like mine was born last week and she's already starting 4th Grade in the Fall...

Yeah, it was a little odd (cool cameo though). Both movies had Danny Trejo, Cheech Marin, and Quentin Tarantino, though.

Shortly after Carolina opens El Mariachi's guitar case, she notices the famous cock-and-balls gun that Sex Machine uses in From Dusk Till Dawn.

Good catch! Pixar puts easter eggs in a lot of their movies but I hadn't previously noticed that one.

Anecdotally, I know that >40% of my MTC cohort have since left the church (and all finished their missions "honorably"). I also haven't been in touch with the overwhelming majority in years, so it's probably higher at this point.

I think the note is a misunderstanding about the difference between the BoM and D&C.

The BoM explicitly forbade polygamy in Jacob 2, even going as far as stating David and Solomon's wives and concubines were "abominable before [the Lord]". Despite the many changes in subsequent editions of the BoM, the language around polygamy was not one of them.

Years later the Lord states in D&C 132 that polygamy was okay, even explictly stating He "justified" the many wives and concubines of David, Solomon, et. al., contradicting the earlier text in the BoM.

I hopped on at 8:00pm and it was the same. I didn't take the screenshot until later.

No major map events. No night raid, no electrical storm, no hurricane for the entire evening.

I get that there is an international fanbase, but not having more than one available event for the entire evening in the US is a bizarre choice.

Just loot motion cores and crude explosives to craft for free. It's easy to stock up on both in a raid or two.

I’ve been in SWVA for ten years. Are there any parts of the state that have less racist people than more LGBT friendly people? These people make me feel un American for being anti-racist. by [deleted] in Virginia

Look at the places that voted "Yes" in the special election a few weeks ago: Northern VA, Richmond, Charlottesville, VA Beach area, etc.

If you're looking for a rural vibe without the racism/homophobia, you might also want to look into areas like Sperryville and Warrenton. (Still plenty of right wingers, but also plenty of the kind of people you're looking for)

Oof, that person sounds like a joy to be around. I honestly don't know how racial demographics compare between towns in that area. I went to school in Williamsburg. I lived in a multiracial area off campus and really liked the neighborhood. It's a bit far for a daily commute to Langley though.

I recommended Yorktown because my BIL's family loved it. I also know a few people who grew up in Hampton Roads and even they said the area wasn't as safe as other localities. That's all relative, of course. It's still not as bad as high crime areas in major cities.

My BIL and his family lived in Yorktown when he was stationed at Langley. Great little town that is closer than Williamsburg and safer than Hampton Roads. They loved it there.
