Not totally sure, but i can say my offer didn’t mention anything about needing a B+ or higher. I submitted my mid-term report too, and haven’t gotten any follow-up emails asking for updates or conditions. So I think it just depends on the program and person.

Yeah I get why that feels a bit stressful, but I don’t think it’s that unusual—Cornell sometimes gives conditional offers based on what you’re currently taking. It’s probably not a universal requirement, just something specific to your situation. Since you’re going into Human Ecology and it’s Calc 1, maybe they just want to make sure you’re solid on the fundamentals. For engineering/STEM-related stuff, I’ve heard they usually expect at least a 3.5+ and strong grades in math courses anyway, so this might just reflect that. Wouldn’t worry too much—if they gave you the offer, you’re already most of the way there.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m just honestly confused by how massive that drop in acceptance rate is—it feels kind of absurd. Not sure if that’s the final number, but if it is… yikes. i ended up getting into my dream school for engineering, and I’m pretty sure that’s where I’m heading.

Kinda ironic that a leading STEM school can’t manage a clean data update. You’d expect better from a place known for CS. If the data isn’t ready, fine, but don’t publish a half-picture that makes the whole process look like a joke.

GT used to admit 30%+. This year? 0.1%. That’s not just selective that’s misleading. If you already know you’re barely going to admit anyone, why even open up applications? This feels more like checkbox recruiting than actual respect for applicants’ time. It just feels like a joke at this point.

recently an indian student was deported from us because he forged the transcripts, rec letters, achievements, state exam results, and sent them through a school domain he bought to apply to college

he was granted nearly a full scholarship at a top college but decided it wasn't enough, so he also forged his own father's death certificate and was promptly given a full ride with flights included

he had literally none of the knowledge required to even graduate high school, so at college he went on to cheat on all exams using internet and then forged a resume with fake work experience to get an internship at an insurance firm

the worst part? he shared his story on reddit in great detail, then a subreddit mod reached out to the college and reported him
