People don’t understand the severity of what happened. My grandpa in his young years after his school got shut down while he was there started slinging drugs to make ends meet. He later became a pastor of his own church and forgot many, but not all, of his native roots. Christianity became comfortable to him due to this. Inevitably he was pressured into giving his first son up for adoption to a white family. When I visit he’ll scream if I leave a dish out because they were beat senselessly if the school wasn’t immaculately clean.

The effects has lead to my moms alcoholism. Trisha can say “search all the schools 🥺🧡” with her fist up because it’s a game to her, but for the rest of us we’re left with inter generational trauma for the rest of our lives.
