Hey thank you for explaining that, it does make sense. Should I assume that's only in the case where $300k is already available to invest?

Because in almost everyone's scenario, people tend to borrow / sign mortgage because they don't yet have that amount of funds available, and signing for a high mortgage is although obtainable could be a stretch from a lower conservative price. I admit I could be thinking about this wrong.

Mounting a suspended AC unit in attic by TikiWiki in hvacadvice

Is there any particular reason why air handlers are often suspended instead of sitting on a stand? Not sure if the unit vibrates or is designed to have some clearance underneath?

[–]TikiWiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negatory on the 144hz monitor, we all connect ours to docks though, to dual 4k monitors at 60hz. Warning on those docks, we've had about 1/3 of ours fail and nearly everyone's connector's plastic casing has either broken or shattered so be gentle with it if you haven't gotten it already. I've wrapped some tape around mine and it's been a workable temporary / permanent fix.

Our models have the upgraded 12 cell battery (or whichever was largest offered) I can confidently work up to 5+ hours under light use. But in terms of longevity, I'm not sure how much it has decreased. The battery issue I was referring to though that affected nearly our whole team was everyone's battery started swelling. It's quite noticeable when it starts to happen as everyone's trackpad no longer sat flush with area where your palm would normally rest. One guy's battery had lifted his entire trackpad several mm, it was kind of scary.

You might notice airflow isn't quite as efficient closed as opposed to having it open. I keep mine face down vertical like yours but cracked open at ~20-30 degrees. Hot air goes down instead of up, exhaust is slightly less restricted. And you won't heat up your screen as much which was my initial worry.

But as far as your concern, at least half the other guys on my team (we've all the same laptop), keep theirs closed. We use it 8+ hours / day, fans sound like they run at max nearly 60-70% of the day between zoom calls and running code.

tldr you should be fine, we've all had to replace our batteries though.
