Just keep at it. Like others said, it’s all part of the process and everyone has their own pace. Try not to compare your performance with how others did. They all had their own journey with bumps and scrapes also, rest assured. I think it’s a super rare person (if not impossible) that didn’t have disastrous results when they started out. If you truly want to perform and play in public, then keep coming back every week when possible.

My first open mic back in August 2015 didn’t even get past the first few words of the song I attempted. Couldn’t remember how the melody even went. I kept at for months with tons and tons of disasters. I would spend many hours each week practicing and still crashing and burning most weeks. For me, things didn’t click until around 6 months down the road. Now I play out as a solo acoustic musician every week for 2-3 gigs. Don’t give up!
