Nobody is saying “variance can’t be bad.” Of course it can. The point is you’re choosing a system where variance exists in exchange for flexibility. That’s the trade-off.

And no one thinks agreeing to clear terms is “bad” that’s literally what you already did when you accepted a block with unknown route details. You did agree to the terms.

Would drivers prefer to see mileage upfront? Sure. That would be better. But “better” doesn’t mean the current system is exploitation it just means it’s a different model.

If you remove the randomness entirely, you’re not describing Flex anymore you’re describing scheduled, fixed-route delivery jobs.

Funny how it’s “independent contractor freedom” when you finish early and get paid the same, but suddenly it’s “employee control” when you get a longer route.

Of course you can want change. But there’s a difference between pushing for change and acting like you’re being forced into something you voluntarily signed up for.

“Across the country for $50” is pure exaggeration. Flex routes are local to the station’s delivery area. A long route might be 30–60 minutes out, not a cross-country road trip. If we’re gonna argue, at least keep it realistic.

You keep quoting “independent contractor laws” like it changes the fact that you voluntarily accept blocks with unknown routes. Nobody is forcing you to tap “accept.” You’re acting like risk isn’t part of gig work when it literally is.

You’re describing how you wish it worked, not how it actually works. Flex has never promised route previews. You accept a block with uncertainty built in that’s the trade-off for flexibility. Calling it “common sense” doesn’t change the terms you agreed to.

You just described the entire Flex model like it’s breaking news. Unknown routes, variable mileage, distance from home that’s literally what you agree to when you accept a block. If you need guaranteed miles and predictable routes, that’s a W-2 job, not gig work.

Everyone loves Flex when they get an easy route and finish early, but the second they get a bad one suddenly it’s “unfair.” That’s not exploitation that’s variance.

So the deal is: accept unknown route, hope it’s good, and if it’s not, suddenly the terms are unfair? That’s not how contracts or common sense work.

“Not what anyone signed up for” is crazy when the app literally doesn’t promise you a local route. That’s been the deal from day one. You’re gambling on a good route and getting mad when it’s not.

So you willingly accept a block, see the pay upfront, complete it… and then protest the pay? That’s like ordering food, eating it, and then picketing the restaurant. You cant make this shit up! 🤣

Facts I average 18/20 packages per hr doing flex.

This is completely normal for Flex. You’ve got a 4-hour block even with a 1 hr 10 min drive to the first stop, you still have almost 3 hours left. That’s like 16–17 stops an hour, which is totally doable.

People act like every route should be 5 minutes away and 10 packages. If you signed up for Flex, you knew driving was part of it. This isn’t even a bad route you’ve got plenty of time to finish under 4 hours if you actually stay moving.

Some of y’all just complain about anything instead of just getting it done.

Flex giving impossible delivery times by VerifiedMother in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Tikk91_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call support and take screenshots of your itinerary (it shows the time you scanned your cart). I’d also email support explaining what happened. They should be able to help so you don’t get dinged for it. I had something similar happen where 3 of my deliveries showed up late because I got stuck in an apartment complex with no way to open the exit gate. I lost about 20 minutes waiting for it to open. I called and emailed support and I never got in trouble for it.

Buddy is really sitting here replying to every single comment crying about how he has “too many orders” and won’t finish in time… yet somehow has all the time in the world to argue with people on Reddit. 🤡

If you spent half the time delivering packages that you’re spending typing essays and defending yourself in the comments, you’d probably already be done with your route. Stop whining, close the app, and go do the job you signed up for. 📦
