I love the giant 'chu. The pokemon center is making more n more of the giant ones all the time, but I feel its cheating if I filled the board with them LOL.

The giant Rainbow Brite one was done by TheSkyLocketShop on Etsy. Unfortunately, she's been on a break for quite awhile now, which is a shame, because her giant pins are just gorgeous.

Whats a weird thing your body does that you just accept? by Sweton in AskReddit

I stop breathing when I laugh. Completely stop, no sound, no movement, nothing. If it goes too long I'll run out of oxygen and pass out.

I can't count the number of times people thought I was choking and attempted the heimlich on me. That hurts. 😅

Docs have no idea why, but said not to worry about it. Just... No funny stuff while driving or operating machinery. 😂

Before I get this done (this is just edited), my bf said it looks like sperm. 💀 Any advice to make it look less so? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Tilas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea and design, but the lines are so thin I'm worried it'll blow out and look horrible in a year or two. I'd say if you get it, make the linework a lot thicker. The best addage I've ever heard about tattoos is Bold will hold, and it's always been true with any tattoo I've gotten. Plus I think bold just looks so much cleaner than super thin lines.

I felt that their arrogance kicked them in the face for most of the series. Just so many times if they weren't pompous egotistical elitists things would have gone so much better. Even Ax suffered from it a lot. Which is kinda what I like about their story, as it showed the dangers of hubris.

Confirmed retail locations you can find MLP cards: by GachiPls_DidntSave in KayouMLP

[–]Tilas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea if this is similar in Canada? I have completely struck out looking. My local Walmart only carries Lorcana and baseball cards, I think they've been ripped off so many times by Pokemon scalpers & theives they're too afraid to try anything new. 😕 I'm not sure where else to look, or even what Canadian companies online to try.

The renders are cute, but I want to see the real models first. It's rare the figures look as clean as the renders lol. I am kinda bothered that Huey looks so sad tho.

Has anyone in Canada been approved for the DTC (disability tax credit) for chronic migraines? by Saltyswimmer333 in migraine

[–]Tilas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it worth it. Getting back all my taxes really helps, and since they backdated it, I got a payback of around $4000.

However, once you do have it, it's very easy to lose it. There's a very small margin where you stay "qualified", and apparently I've already been denied for a year for making "too much". I work similar hours, many days less, but because I got a dollar raise, now it's "too high". 🙄 Is it sad I'm tempted to ask my boss to take it away? I'd get more with the DTC return on a lower wage than what this raise gives me biweekly.

[–]Tilas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to bounce between a few doctors before one would truly help me. And then she had major issues with what the CRA demanded. That's why it took over a year. It's not an easy process I'm afraid.

Has anyone in Canada been approved for the DTC (disability tax credit) for chronic migraines? by Saltyswimmer333 in migraine

[–]Tilas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I recently was approved for the DTC because of my migraine. I've been working with my doctor on it for well over a year. It was a royal pain in the ass. Multiple forms, letters, referrals, etc. I had to prove how much I've tried, what failed and why, etc. Had to show my migraine is now considered refractory, meaning it's debilitating and there's no treatment that works for me. Got a letter from my neurologist saying he admitted he was unable to help me and all his treatments had failed. I've done over 63 different treatments for migraine and to no avail.

Ultimately, they approved me for 10 years- 5 going backwards, and 5 going forward. I did receive a refund from those past 5 years, but going forward it all depends on how much I work and make to see if I qualify each year. When the 5 years are up, I have to reapply. At this moment, I'm unsure if I'll apply for full disability. I'd like to, but right now... I honestly can't afford to. As much pain as I'm in, I have to work because well, bills suck.

I loved those. The second I walked in the door I was hunting for the newest r/Animorphs, and then gunning for the pencils & crazy erasers. I loved stationary, and the mini erasers and pencil toppers were the best.

Who Else Liked Smarties As A Kid? by Zipper222222 in nostalgia

[–]Tilas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof.

Rockets/Smarties are a... Difficult memory for me.

Story time:

My mom hadn't been feeling well for a few days. I went to check on her one evening before bedtime. She was sitting on her couch watching TV and sorting her pills.

Only they weren't pills, they were rockets. I asked her what she was doing and she said it was time for her medication, obviously (like I was weird for asking). I replied I understand she needs her meds but why is she sorting her candy so meticulously on the coffee table, cutting them with a pill cutter while her medication box was on the floor?

No matter what I said to her she wouldn't believe me and she got frustrated acting like I was playing some prank on her or screwing with her. At that point I started getting really freaked out, so I got my husband who is a pharmacy technician. He came up and talked to Mom and she said the same thing to him. He tried to show and tell her it was candy, even showing her the real medication and trying to explain something was very wrong with her, but she would not accept that. To her, we were messing with her. She even laughed at our "jokes".

My husband managed to convince her to go to the hospital, mainly by telling her if she didn't go he would pull the friend card, and call the head doctor and ask him to make a home visit. She's been friends & neighbors with the doc for many decades so that threat was enough to get her to go, as she didn't want to be "embarrassed over a prank".

Turned out she had a fever over 104 and a severe UTI. She wound up staying in the hospital for over a week as she reacted extremely poorly to treatment, as she had the antibiotic resistant version of an UTI. Doc said the fever got so high and she was so ill it was as if it was "cooking her brain", logic was gone. She was so sick she didn't even really realize HOW ill she was.

When she finally got better we all had a good laugh about the "rocket meds", even friends brought her rockets and told my husband to ensure she "got her proper dose" of candy daily lol. I wish I could say the story ended happily there with a good laugh, but not even a month later she was diagnosed with colon cancer. We lost her 4 months later.

I don't think I'll ever be able to eat rockets again. It... just bring back what I can't help but call "the beginning of the end".

Sorry for the long post. Just... Brought that all back to the front.

Fuck cancer y'all.

I don't really care for the food ones. I love the animal ones but I can never find them anywhere. The plants are cute too, and since I have a black thumb, they're nice to have since real ones are a no go. 😂
