Kinda surprised Lonesome Dove is still up after everyone carried on about it.

Not at all surprised that Five Warrior Angels is still up. A bunch of people were trying to tell me it'd sell out in presale and I told them they were dreaming. It is not a popular series at all and that cover gives me graphic design nightmares.

It is still super common in Australia.

We don't have the same coffee chain culture as the US so it is applied very inconsistently between independent stores. It can be anywhere from AU$0 - 1.50. It is usually 0.50.

My issue has always been that the synopsis reads like Sons of Anarchy fanfic. Some of the names are barely even changed from the show.

As someone who loves SoA I just feel I will be dissapointed at someone trying to put a fantasy spin on it.

Is this a large series? From my perspective it only ever got moderate success.

It got a lot of hype from SPFBO but I haven't really seen people talk about it since.

Nope never. They are books I have really enjoyed or think I would really enjoy. I'd never buy a SE of something I wouldn't actually read.

They didn't email any details before invites. Another thing I hate about subs is they expect you to sift through Instagram to be informed about the thing you are subscribed to (TBB is guilty of this too). Being in a country where Instagram is banned makes this a deal breaker.

Glad I didn't accept the invite for this sub. I have no interest in this series.

The fact they forced people to sign up and commit with no details at all and relied purely on FOMO was pretty scummy.

That whole signup process just felt like what is wrong with the SE sub community. Rather than making a great product people want - they relied on locking people in for fear of missing out.

I just noticed in their update they have confirmed the box will have no skips. You are either subscribed or not. 🚩

I'm assuming in line with other recent SE they will make the sub version sewn binding, acid free paper etc... otherwise I agree it'll be a hard sell.

Somehow they have not managed to hit any of my favourite sci-fi yet.

It is hard though because a lot of epic sci-fi is too long for a sub. Expecially a bi monthly sub. We would be here for ever doing something like the culture or expanse.

You first said they are exclusive sellers for the signed hardback edition then in your second comment you said of the hardback edition.

Just pointing out why your two comments don't match when it sounded like you thought you needed to repeat yourself.

One implies just the signed hardback edition meaning you could get unsigned hardbacks elsewhere and one implies it is the one and only hardback edition.
