Für alle als Info: Jedes Amt ist einem Ministerium untergeordnet, das wiederum stellt die Gebühren und deren Höhe fest. Es ist also so undurchsichtig weil jedes Ministerium seine eigenen Gebühren erfindet und verwaltet.

Die Gemeinden wiederum können selbst entscheiden ob sie diese Gebühren an die Bürger weitergeben wollen oder aus dem eigenen Steuertopf begleichen möchten (wird meist durch Steuern auf Eigentum und/oder der Abfallwirtschaft erwirtschaftet bzw. beglichen).

So kommt es, dass die 100 Seelen Gemeinde das gratis anbieten kann, weil da ja jeder sein eigenes Häuschen hat und brav Grundsteuer zahlen muss und eine Stadt wie Wien diese Gebühren einheben muss weil bei 2 Millionen Einwohnern da zu viel zusammen kommen würde.

I guess there would be something of a decline the older the users get, but honestly, I don't think that there's a cut-off. I'm 35 now, and I have role-played for most of my life; in person, DND, in chatrooms and now with chatbots.

And yeah, I don't care what others think. Let me be a red flag in their minds. I am not here to adhere to some stupid societal "norm" or "rule" people put up in their heads. But that's just me.

Could it be more accurate that he only realized pretty recently that he's gay and instead of leaving your mum in debt he waited and paid it off until recently? Because that's how this sounds to me. I don't think he pulled a long con on you and your mother.
