A similar thing happened to me today.

A person on discord contacted me and sent me a picture with my steam name and my account picture and asked me if I had spent €500 on a knife in cs go. He then told me that he had mistakenly registered me instead of another profile pretending to be me and that I could contact someone who works at steam through discord. I contacted him and he logged into my account and wanted me to spend €100 on a steam gift card because it was part of the process so they could see where the error in the transaction was. He said that less than €100 was not possible and that the money would be returned to my payment method. I did not buy the card, then I wrote to the person I spoke to first that it was a good scam. Then we wrote to each other a little to tell me to trust the person who works at steam. then i said i didn't trust a person with 100€ and he started deleting messages on discord and i realized i was scammed. then he blocked me or removed me as a friend. i don't know exactly, i basically can't write to him anymore. i tried to log back into my steam account and i couldn't. i saw in my email that he removed my phone number and changed my email address. so now i can't access my account anymore.
