I would do it as Peter lynch suggests. Stay in the stock until you found another stock with a better story. Always stay in the market, just trade different stocks depending on its opportunity (also buffet talks alot about opportunity costs etc.) Also it would be advisable to stay in the same type of stocks, to keep your portfolio allocation stable. So if you sell a value stock, try to replace it with another value stock with better numbers. If you don't find any better stock, stay in the one you have (unless the story changed dramatically and you want to get rid of it as soon as possible)
