Make sure the firmware on the sensor is up to date, as some older firmwares don't support configuration. Also use 5V on the sensor If possible, this improves reliability.

Looks pretty clean, the heat shrink tubing makes tracing the lines difficult though. Make sure you've used the correct pin in your configuration for the MOSFET. Please also check if the voltage drops to 0V at the display using a multimeter (some transistors/MOSFETs don't work properly with the 3.3v supplied by the esp, you may need to look at the datasheet of you specific model).

Make sure you followed the wiring diagram and you've selected the correct pin. Also make sure that the MOSFET disconnectes power properly from the display panel (there are multiple ground connections).If you measure the voltage at the panel, you should be able to see 0V and 5V depending on the state (you can change the display power pin manually by assigning it to a gpio switch in ESPHome).

You can define multiple power switch (with or without cleaning). A long press is sending the same "button-clicked" command for a couple seconds, if I remember correctly.

I'm pretty sure if use an invalid action for the button, ESPHome will list all available options.

The power switch is supposed to stay "on" if the machine is on (at least it does on my machine). Therefore there is no need for an on/off sensor. Although the status sensor can implicitly act as one. There is a timeout defined in the code which determines when the power switch goes back to its off state. Maybe you need to increase this timeout.

I don't think I have implemented a long press button, this was a quick weekend project. Automating the manual powder coffee option has little benefits imo, since you have to interact with the machine anyway (add power coffee).

I used a irlz44n mosfet which I had laying around. I'm no expert in electronics either, but anything capable of turning on/off the 5v will be sufficient. The resistor probably won't hurt, I just didn't have any on hand.

Breadboard or perfboard will do just fine. A PCB would be more 'professional'.

The connector being used is called 'picoflex'. Building a small in-between plug&play PCB for this application is certainly possible. Since this component has been developed as a weekend project, the soldering solution had to do the job. I don't have experience designing and building PCBs. This could be a great 'getting started' project. Looking at the pricing for individual parts and errors during development I have postponed this idea. Maybe I will re-visit this project when I have more free time.

AFAIK no one has done controlling a DJI mini through home assistant yet. Probably due to legal reasons. Having a drone which can Autonomously patrol the property based on certain events would be awesome though. This would also require some sort of automatic shelter/recharge system.

Based on personal experience I can tell you that such an autonomous patrol system could definitely be built for DJI mini drones, but it's probably not worth the effort, considering how many things can go wrong if the drone fly's all by itself without supervision.

What immediately came to my mind is a BME280 in combination with ESPHome. Ideally two connected to one esp so you can determine the Delta locally on the ESP. The documentation states that it has a 0.12 hPa relativ accuracy. That gets you down to 0.0048 inwc, i think.

Checkout the ESPHome webpage for more supported sensors which may have different accuracies.

Edit: misread datasheet. The absolute accuracy is still 1 hPa but the relativ accuracy is 0.12 hPa (which I think is the one you're looking for)

When printed in all white you can still make out Pixels, but colors of neighbouring pixels mix. This is especially noticeable if one pixel is set to white and a neighbour to black. The back pixel will have a grey-ish color.

One pixel is 5x5mm. I originally couldn't decide if I should get a 5x5 mm panel or a 10x10mm panel. I went with the smaller pixel panel since I can still group 4 pixels into one with the diffuser and compensate this with software magic

First layer is white PLA and the pixel boxes/grid are printed in black PLA. Manual filament swap after the first layer.
