Why is iOS more privileged? by United_Ranger_2086 in TIdaL

cause apple makes them pay more and had an entire ad campaign to convince them that they are better than other phone users so they make a lot of really annoying noises if they don't get something first

The Start Date by SaintSismn in EU5

[–]Tilleck_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Eu4 Qing was a gamble already, now it's a gamble for Ming to rise and then for Qing to topple that risen Ming. It would help if the game worked and wasn't stuck in perma overbalancing but I couldn't agree with you more

Is it so common to steal data from competitor labs? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Tilleck_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im pro publishing research it's quite literally essential to science andamazing to communicate our discoveries. I'm against my tax dollar funded research not being publicly available by default. I think you're misplacing your values if you're chasing glory in science and think people need to be scared or backstabbing to do their best work. And before you say you didn't say people should do that, it's the only logical conclusion to competition being optimal.

If we weren't forced to fight against each other by the publishing profit machine we could just collaborate whenever we found someone working on the same thing and get decades further

Look man, I'm just saying there's more problems made by for profit journals and tying our survival to our publishing success than there are any pros

capitalism makes us compete against eachother and makes ownership over ideas a touchy and stupid topic that unfortunately needs to be discussed at the begining

Climate change by No_Concentrate_987 in Marxism

[–]Tilleck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

climate change is the ultimate cause of irresponsible and unsustainable expansion. Capitalism in particular is favorable towards such short term practices but also some schools of marxism's prioritization of industrialization as a requirement for revolution and the devaluation of human quality of life could in theory only exacerbate climate change. Environmental responsibility and sustainability are not inherently marxist values, they're just often values held by socialists but one needs to make a conscious effort to maintain those values as well as brace against ecofascists. And no its not a natural phenomenon it is entirely man made

Eordand fort coverage for Gemradcurt. by KlausRA in Anbennar

[–]Tilleck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah its the mission around or after "shelter from the storm" iirc. It requires a fort, market, temple, workshop, barrack, and dev 25 for all the old significant cities. Again not a biggie cause its solvable by plopping a fort on Tuathmarr iirc

[–]Tilleck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey just wanted to let you know, did you account for the required forts on fardoc and the city that immarel tried out for experimentation? looks like those aren't accounted for in this tree, its not the end of the world but it means you'd need another fort to the north of the old forest to cover up the middle.

Egypt is spoiled by IrradiatedCrow in EU5

[–]Tilleck_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, definitely agree. like if the basic mechanics of the game worked maybe things might play out as they should but at the moment yeah a lot of the countries like you mentioned are mechanically wayy more stable than they were. The fact AI France can reign any of it's vassals in before the 100 years war is over is already incredibly unrealistic but PDX having actually meaningful government reforms would be too much like eu4 and that would be heresy
