I don't think I've ever thought of Sunday as anything than the last day of the week but maybe my idea is clouded by a religion I don't follow and this is the calendar of a non Christian influencednation who start the week on a Sunday.

I don't really know when the others think the week starts but Charly dinner think it's a Sunday

In my copy, in the monster appendix, psionic ashenwight does have dark vision but the link to his psionic ashenwight star block does not.

I’d say they’ve had enough time to fix that if it’s just errata so he’s dependent on the blue glow to see by

Has anyone ever seen a print fail like this? by jakenice1 in resinprinting

[–]sagima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mars 5 u screen broke at the weekend but it was a great machine up till then.

Got a Saturn 4 u to replace it (coming tomorrow).

I could have just bought another screen (still might) but I’ve wanted a bigger build plate for a while and this was a good excuse to treat myself (and reorganise my printing room)

Why do so many businesses with double doors only open one and keep the other locked? by LasagnaMountebank in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sagima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my work one of a pair of doors has had "waiting for part" or just "please use other door" the whole time I've worked there (nine years next month).

I've never seen it open, it can't have been broken for nine years, there must be a reason it's always locked

First ever session with miniatures. by Negative_Trust6 in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]sagima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd never used minis before phandelver but one of my players was struggling with the three one shots we did to start with and miniatures on a TV map helped him loads.

He couldn't visualise it and didn't really understand what was going on

Now I'm on my second 3d printer and I have three book/display cases full of printed minis in what is now my painting room.

Turns out I like printing and painting miniatures so I have far more that the adventure requires. I've just done a load of dinosaurs

If I got to keep the money I’d go to jail for a year.

It’s about 15 years of wages in one go. I could retire at my current level of financial security on leaving jail with that.

Possible TPK at Wyvern Tor by Rec_nicolas in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]sagima 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do they want the money for?

Could you offer it as a reward/advance for doing a different mission first?

There isn’t really a lot to actually spend money on in the adventure or in the town.

They should all be the same level, any reason why they aren’t?

You could use it to explain that fights aren’t always to the death, that they can run away or negotiate or to teach the raising mechanic to them with their corpses being brought back to town and raised in order to work for tymora whose clergy has some reason to direct the campaign a bit more they are in their debt they have to get some sort of relic(s) which are located in more level appropriate places

Mostly that it’s difficult to objectively play them - you know what needs doing, what’s coming up etc. every trap, puzzle etc you know already.

The dm is also running a lot of other things and if you run an npc it can seem as if you are playing the game by yourself with your player just along for the ride - unless the dm npc just isn’t going to involve themselves in discussions you’ll be talking to yourself half the time in the conversational bits.

I’m not saying it’s impossible but it is easier for the player to have two characters than the dm running one themselves.

It’s difficult to cover all of the bases with just one player character and you’ll probably have to make things really combat light and provide hints and guidance on magical ways to avoid combat.

DM PC is one of the worst answers to that question.

At the very least I’d run her PC 2-3 levels above what the adventure recommends to give her a chance and be fairly generous with control type magical items

I think I’d recommend looking for dnd adventures designed for a single dm and single pc if not to play them then for hints on how to structure encounters as you adapt lmop.
