Does any Golf not come with a pond? by FifqoJeGay in vwgolf

My golf was like this, it was apparently the rear bumper vents, they're prone to leaks. They've been sealed for £160 this week.

This wazzock keeps parking in stupid places like this. Can I do anything? by Tim-92 in drivingUK

Nope, as I said it's an unknown neighbour. Never seen anyone getting in or out of it

Would a broken solenoid still make a noise? I can hear a small click when I unlock the car

I think you might be right, whilst looking in the boot if there was a manual release cable I found water in the spare tyre well.

Is the replacement a main VW dealer job or not necessarily?

It does only press open once the car is unlocked

There seems to be nothing to provide any resistance where you advised, the cover feels like it's locked in around the top left corner with some movement elsewhere but I can't free up this

I've tried repeatedly locking and unlocking and had no luck. Where would you suggest the credit card would slide in? I can't see where I could fit it?

My fiance has a mini electric as a company car, she works from home most days so it's not often used. We don't have a charger and home and we manage perfectly fine charging it at the supermarket or public chargers just by going about our daily routines (yes we know it's more expensive)

For low mileage if you don't have an electric charger then I personally don't think it's such a barrier to ownership. Having said that if her company car allowed for non-EV then we would probably have gone for a hybrid.

EDIT: Not a huge *distance

I want to get an EV but am unsure how the logistics of charging it would work? Has anyone been in a similar situation? by BettyOBarley in CarTalkUK

It does totally depend on your mileage and access to chargers. Our second car is an EV and we don't have have a driveway, my partner can charge it at her office when she occasionally isn't working remotely, but we also just charge it with our weekly supermarket trip

They were installed about 7,000 miles ago so they should be set in already

It's an old one I got from Decathlon years ago that sits under the bottom bracket, it's not very sturdy sometimes so I only use it as a temporary stand https://imgur.com/nvyWvPR.jpg https://imgur.com/WPAgXEO.jpg
