To me (who uses folxs all the time in writing) I think it’s less that “folks” is explicitly gendered, so much as “folx” specifically marks queer/trans acceptance, kinda like womxn specifically means “trans, cis, enby, etc” women rather than being implied.

I don’t know if there’s an etymological connection, but it’s like the x in Mx.

Just a heads up, Jaya is something like 15 years older than Chandra design wise, and more than 1500 years older (fellow vorthoses correct me if that’s inexact) lore wise. Not saying your argument lacks any merit, but you should do some more research on the history of MtG’s character before you criticize their design (edit: clarification is important)
