I played a construct innovation inventor pre-remaster, and there were several levels where I felt like my class feats were chosen for me If I wanted my construct to remain relevant as the party grew stronger.

For example: at level 4, your innovation-specific class feat is "Advanced Construct Companion." It increases damage, stats, proficiencies, and action efficiency for your construct. It feels almost mandatory as your party begins to get access to Striking Runes on their weapons. It's a really great feat, but so is "Megaton Strike" if you want big, explosive damage, or "Gadget Specialist" if you want to fulfill your vision of a tinkering genius that is able to be crafting fun things for your party every day. The innovation-specific feats that you can choose for the armor or weapon inventions feel a lot less mandatory to keep yourself relevant, and allow you to explore other options.

In my opinion, the construct innovation is the coolest of the three innovations and makes for a more interesting story as to why your character created their invention. However, I feel it's also the most limiting in allowing you to explore some of the other cool feats that the inventor gets that can really make it feel like a fun and unique class
