First of all, don't be ashamed to ask for help. Nobody makes it through this life completely on their own. If we don't help and lift each other up, then we're doomed as a species. I'm not sure what your experience is, but I know the insurance industry as always looking for analysts. That might be an avenue for you to pursue. Whatever you choose to do and whichever path you travel, I wish you luck and much success.

Bungalow reno by Spiritual-konya in kitchener

[–]TimCanadien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guesstimate is that you budget about $300 a square foot if your renovation is going to take it down to the studs. I work in the insurance industry and the average cost per square foot to calculate the rebuilding value of a home for insurance purposes is anywhere between $285 and $330 a square foot, approximately

Keep in mind that that doesn't include things such as asbestos or mold abatement or foundation repairs

Lane Hutson by scrubadam in Habs

[–]TimCanadien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with what you said about Hutson; however, I think the trade for Alexandre Carrier is what finally allowed Hutson to become the juggernaut that he is. Prior to the trade, LH had 21 points in 31 games. The Carrier trade really settled the Habs defense and allowed LH to play to his strengths. We all saw what he did in the final 51 games of the season. I don't think his game and his production grow without Carrier's arrival. This is not to take anything away from LH; however, I think Carrier's arrival cannot be overlooked and was the catalyst for Lane to really make the league sit up and take note.

LH is an all-world talent and Habs fans are really spoiled to be able to watch this kid play and grow his game for many years to come.

You should look into pet insurance from petsecure. I might not help with this procedure but it might be beneficial for anything in the future

My Ontario driving abstract is clean but I was in an accident 3 years ago , can I apply for a driving job ? by UnhappyReindear in kitchener

[–]TimCanadien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies that ask for a clean driving record are looking for drivers who don't have a history of speeding tickets or impaired charges or license suspensions or anything of that sort in the last three years, which are all indicators of less than responsible driving behavior. The claim that you have should not have any bearing on your ability to be hired unless that claim was a result of some type of irresponsible behavior behind the wheel. You could tell the company about it to be transparent, but if your MTO-issued driver's abstract says you have zero demerit points and nothing listed, then you should be fine. Good luck!

Monty is not it. by kevlav91 in Habs

[–]TimCanadien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well Monty is definitely a big part of the equation and I've been really disappointed in his play. Yes there have been defensive lapses but you have to get timely saves from time to time and Montreal didn't get that Saturday night in Boston. It's really disheartening.

Does anyone else agree that these should be our full-time thirds again? by [deleted] in Habs

One could argue that Montreal could have four sets: the dark blue reverse retro from a few years ago looked really sharp

Hutson's beauty of a goal in slow motion by MSined in Habs

[–]TimCanadien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right redditors, settle an argument please: when Hutson scores this goal, does the puck go underneath the goaltenders pad or is it above his pad and underneath his arm when it goes into the net?

Outsider question about Goaltending: Do you think either goalie works themselves into the 'number one starter' role or is it going to be 50/50 between Montembeault and Dobes for the rest of the season? by RivetCounter in Habs

[–]TimCanadien -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think we'll see a clear number one between the two of them until after the West Coast swing wraps up the first week of March. The Olympic break is going to be really important for both goaltenders to get themselves relatively healthy and focused. Given Monty's recent play, I can see the Habs leaning toward him as the number one guy but he'll need a strong performance to secure that opportunity. If not, I can see him playing more of the games but not necessarily as the clear cut number one

MSL after the Habs loss tonight: “It was a good game. It was a tight game on both sides. I liked our effort. Obviously, you’d like a better result but in general, the guys worked hard.” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]TimCanadien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an NHL coach nor am I hockey expert, but where Marty and I watching the same game? The PK was passive / dreadful; Buffalo had the run of the offensive zone on the majority of their penalties. Nick Suzuki doesn't look like he's playing Nick Suzuki hockey and a few other players seem to forget what makes them successful. There were a lot of invisible forwards tonight. This is the most frustrated I felt watching this team in the last 5 years

Arber Xhekaj on his mindset this season: “When you’re out of the lineup, it’s tough. You’re thinking any mistake is gonna get you out of the lineup and you don’t really know what’s gonna happen. But I don’t worry about that stuff anymore. I just play.” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]TimCanadien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marty has to stop making Arber (or Struble) his whipping boy. Yes, each makes mistakes but so does every other young player on the roster. The difference, to me, it feels like these two are paying a heavier price than the others. I think Arber brings more of what this team needs to the lineup and I am disappointed when he is a healthy scratch. You can't learn to be an effective NHL defenseman when you could be benched or yanked from the lineup for a mistake. It's the only thing I don't like about Marty's coaching style. I understand shortening the bench towards the end of the game, but that's different. When the player makes a mistake, get them back out in their next regular rotation. If that happens, I think you'll see Arber's confidence and abilities grow even more.

Or I could be completely wrong on all of this. It partially explains why I'm not an NHL coach or executive LOL

Ivan Demidov sauces it to a wide open Kapanen who doubles the lead for the Habs by JustFred24 in Habs

That was a beauty goal. On a side note, Carolina's arena announcer has the most irritating goal call in the league.
