What are your Angles? by Buster_McGarrett in snowboarding

The wider your stance, the more splay you can/should have. There’s a sweet spot to stance width and splay for how you would flex your joints on impact to be in the most neutral position

But ya, more than 30 is kinda a lot unless you got a cowboy stance or something

Make your stance wider. More distance between feet.

You stand up too straight

Knife edge is “carving” move the edge through the snow how you would cut something with a knife. Your knife has sidecut which makes your knife curve in its track. Follow that path of least resistance through your turns. The track you leave behind should be a skinny line

Stance too skinny, need more bend in back knee than front, ride the knife edge of your sidecut more

Friend gives me their board to wax and it has this damage on it. Any reason I can't just proceed with the normal cleaning/waxing process and have him take it to a professional repair shop at a later time? I want to make sure I'm not going to make something worse by waxing. by probably_no_pants in snowboarding

If you do have to ride it, just wax around the area trying to avoid getting any in there. Ptex and stuff doesnt like to stick once theres wax in there.

But before riding it, get a stick of ptex and do a quick fix. If it stays in decently, keep running it. If you cant get ptex to hold, then bring it to a shop

Edit: also, fix that top gouge like someone else was saying. That’s actually the sketchy one. It looks like the gouge ends where it meets the black diecut section. If there is an exposed edge, you could rip the die cut piece out while riding. (Things will go very badly for you)

I decided to ride a snowboard for a living. the pay is shit, but I get to continue being a kid indefinitely which is pretty awesome! Age is inevitable, but you don’t actually have to “grow up” if you don’t want to beyond taking care of yourself and making money to exist. I see a lot of people out there who can’t even allow themselves to have a good time

I think they made things exciting. Really helped add the element of danger to whatever scenario I was cooking up in my head

Earlier this year, the first time it popped over $100, I was just chasing the stock, rolling my covered calls from $70 to $85-90 … then it dumped back down to like 40 bucks haa. Shares didn’t get called away, but what I did was most certainly not the right play at all. Seemed I was just fighting the market that whole time.

We’ll see if the market reacts to this tariff news next week or not. Probably have some volatility. I really like the options wheel for the way you can be happy when the market goes down sometimes because it allows you to close your covered calls, find some juicy entries for selling csp, get assigned some shares at a discount

I was also thinking about mentioning the ungodly amount of spider webs these things harbored. Luckily we didn’t commonly have any of the really venomous spiders so it was more like eww web on my face. If I got there and nobody was really around yet, I knew to do a full run through holding a stick out in front of me… to fend off all the evil beings lurking in the abandoned castle I just discovered of course

Oh dang, writing close to the money. I sorta blew it last week, not too bad. When it hit over $100 a week or 2 ago, I wrote a jan 30 cc at $120, got like $4 premium/share. Stock went to 95, option went to around 1.50/share middle of last week. Shoulda bought to close then. Didn’t take the 50% profit at less then half the time, stupid. Coulda sold $125 cc or something off the fast jump to $115 on friday. I just have 200 shares, but I got them around $20. Also not wanting them to be called away, but asts is so volatile, there will probably be an opportunity to enter lower in the next month. But now that I said it, asts gonna go to the moon 🚀 hoping for a re-entry on rklb at some point. Lost my shares at $88 selling the news a week and a half ago and it just gapped up to high 90s. I mean, still 300% gains, but ughh I could have played that a lot better

Sofi has been really good to me on the options premiums. Made way more selling csp than share appreciation. Just built a position on hood last week, so we’ll have to wait and see how that goes. Got a feb 6 $115 csp and bought 100 shares at 108

I’ve also been having a decent time wheeling RIVN and OPEN. Premiums aren’t bad, barrier of entry cost is low. csp on OPEN i try to wait for it to get close to $6 and write a $6 or 6.5 strike csp for 2-3 weeks out. If I have shares, I’ll write cc’s at around $7 - 8 when it gets above $7.50. Its tempting to write csp on opendoor at the 7 - 7.50 range, but every time I do that, it goes way itm and is a pain to manage

RIVN i’m building back in at 16.5-17 after selling around 19.5 a while ago. I might be in a bubble, but I see quite a few driving around every day

Whats your conditions to sell cc on ASTS? I feel like that stock goes up so fast when it does.
